That's because the issue is virtually impossible to notice when you are piloting a phrac. You will notice it easier when you attack an enemy phrac.

The cataphract has hitboxes that work properly, so it's just easy to take out sides compared to centurions or catapults, who have hitboxes that make a good 40%-90% of inbound damage just vanish.

need to get above 65 kph to use an XL engine. Your mech starts to grow a lag-shield at 65. Otherwise use the largest standard your loadout allows. Also when you do use an XL, put CASE in each side torso to lower the chance of an engine critical.

Protip: Go look at that tab for Armor. Now think about how many hits the 'default' armor loadout can take. Now look at another mech, say a heavy dragon.
Now think about the surface area of the Cata vs. Dragon's torso.
Your welcome.

Hm, lag shoting starts but i have not seen them taking less damage than expected opposite to Mechs above ~100kph.
As far as my experience with Phracts goes they can be devastating opponents and usually be not easy to take out though it may be that some setups develop an unexpected weakness to the durability of the Mech.
