Chat Is Still The Worst In Any Modern Game

It takes time anyway for your mech to clear the match, why they dont have after action chat is still a mystery
THe game needs real improvements in the chat during the game.
I am gonna try and observe more closely, but especially team chat it always seems that after I die, suddenly I see the few txts that were typed in game on some other guys screen.
As it is , the txt dissapears far too quickly. and the last thing pugs need is a skewed chat system.
In game chat builds the community. Period.
Basic voice call outs are also huge for immersion and tactics. Tribes ascend does this well.
I have limited gaming knowledge, but the mw4 chat got the job done.

Whiny, whiny, whiny poor little boy...awww I'm so sorry...I think PGI is working on bigger and better issues right now okay?
crawl back under your bridge.
issues like loosing your HUD after you power down?
or not having a HUD at all to begin with?
or yellow screen?
or 4 FPS?
I do notice they all have one thing in common.

Again...do you want the FPS, Mech proportions, weapon balancing, etc etc fixed first???......or the chat................
for me as new player
the chat... i can´t make any friends or talk to people if i have a question.
if that would be changed i wouldn´t bother to fight always vs 4 people who are in 1 team on the other side.
( if i got it right.. many people joining a match with a formed team of 4 people just to stomp some "pugs" )
that´s the most frustrating as starter... that i have to face 4 atlas on 1 side with 4 mechs who got less weight... not to mention the lights ( i have no clue how to survive vs them since the infront aiming is realy hard ).
that combined is realy frustrating and takes away alot of fun... atleast for me.

Not only are some people not comfortable with VOIP, some are incapable of using it at all due to circumstance or disability. This game needs to be made accessible to them.

Out of game chat could use some expansion to make social aspects better but I've never thought that this is an area that needs to be exhaustive. It's MWO not Facebook. Units can organize themselves outside of the game as they always have.

There should be a hotkey to open a chatbox, which should be scaleable as the user desires, and placed where ever on the HUD they desire it. Clicking the hot key not only should open the chat box, but should enable the mouse cursor so it can be used to resize and position the chatbox. There should be channel tabs. One for team, one for all, and one for private 1to1. Chat should be persistent in all tabs. Font colors and 'bold' should be options. If the hotkey is used to close the chatbox, it should minimize, keeping all contained chat intact until the end of the match, or perhaps 5 minutes after the end of a match, though starting a new match before those 5 minute is up would clear it.

Where is it?
I only see messages about players I kill.
Some times some white gibberish appears on screen for brief moment like less than a tenth of a second before disappearing.

That would be nice yes. I mean at least then we could have a decent conversation with other players and hey giving team mates text commands wouldn't be a huge issue.
I mean I type at 80 WPM and I still don't bother with the ingame text because it's just not functional enough to be worth while.
All kidding aside
You realize that guys suggestions are all pretty much the industry standard and norm for multiplayer games now right?
being snarky to a player who wants to see this game improve to industry standards isn't exactly great :\
Edit: Most important change.
Text should be persistent. It should never fade from screen.

Classy reply, really. Can't say I expected anything else form you, Garth.
By the by, Star Trek Online has this very chat system I've described (with the exception of the auto-clear). Might want to check out how the big wigs are doing it.

Glad to see your trolling while ignoring the point.
for a game that is supposed to be team based online game, you have no methods to find groups, communicating in group requires 3rd party software. People not in teamspeak have next to zero chance of finding a goup. Communication in-game is archaic at best. But ya, lets troll.
