You didn't pay for anything. You invested, you donated your money to help get this game developed. No where in the founders purchase did it say we will be getting a fully flushed out multiplayer game that will revolve around what you think the development goals and timeline should be.

Honestly if chat is what people are crying about now, game must be doing pretty damn good feature and bug wise eh?

I would imagine that the ingame voip is less of a priority as even with that most of the people who would use voip already are and will likely continue to use their own vent/mumble/ts etc servers. I've rarely seen any games built in voip used much compared to the popular third party programs. Why waste more dev time on a feature that will get ignored by most anyways.

Sometimes I like to pug... and usually regret it. lack of communication because of poor interface is one of the reasons pug teams get wiped.

I use teamspeak if I am going to be on for a while but not if I am only going to be on for a couple of matches.

I am enjoying the game so far. i want the bugs fixed, each of them. Chat is a QoL feature which, right now, is not implemented well at all.

I do not want MS Word... i want a functional team chat. I want an operational HUD and minimap.

The chat is astoundingly bad. I was happy enough to put up with it when stuff was closed, but there's really no excuse now the game is public.

Hell I would be happy with chat (till it is better)if it didn't disappear in 5 seconds, maybe 10 seconds or 15, ide be happy if it didn't fade away at all, maybe some people in this conversation meant Voip...but I think bare bone "type" chat is all op meant(might be wrong), just a basic settings adjustment to what is there. Sure it would be nice to make the adjustments ourselves, but as a stop gap just make it not vanish right after a message pops up would prob go a long ways.

chat sucks. Almost as much as the new crop of trolls on the boards.
Main problem is it disappears to quickly, unlike some of our enlightened members.

Seriously guys, the chat is really, really crappy. If it was better, it might even have such things as an ignore function or the possibility to shut it off if you don't like it. Not to mention custom channels and the option to let it stay on screen.

Worse though is the lack of a lobby chat and and a better C3 integration. C3 must be available for everyone on the drop. Lack of communication is what kills pugs and no, TS is not the answer.

I find the lack of professionalism from people who should know better to reflect poorly on MWO as a whole. Shame on you Garth, seriously.

The poster's ideas may have been too broad and complex but there was zero reason for your snippy reply.

I think he was just joking, not being sarcastic. Just so long as it works reliably and quickly. But if we're changing things, I'd almost rather have it part of the mech console. Immersion FTW!

Chat right now works. STO level chat would be nice if it tied in with a lobby, giving it a persistent amount of chattiness heh.

But in game voice comms definitely needs some love. Getting it in game was a good first step, getting people to use it would be better.

Could you also mention adding in-game support for custom chat macros? This game is definitely lacking in the familiar sight of the ASCII art "UMADBRO?" (or the like) made entirely of many smaller carefully color coded iterations of the same phrase being spammed on the screen every time someone gets a kill. It's like sensory deprivation!
:) :)

This. There are not enough giant ASCII penises in this game. And also add threads so it's more like a forum.

Edit: How is this not censored?

the chat is not very visible before the game starts...it should be the main screen until the game starts so you can talk with your team.
