Trying to use the system profiler for the beta application but it keeps giving an error when it gets to "probing microphone" and just sits at that point forever.

Is the system profiler required or is there another way to collect my information?

I'm using WinXP Service pack 3 if that matters.

If you're really not concerned about the mic, you can try disabling it in your Control panel under sound/recording devices. Hopefully that will solve it.

I managed to fix this guys.

You actually have to create the directory C:\WINDOWS\Performance\WinSAT\Datastore

It's all folders, do that and it oughta work. Did for me anyway.

Awks. Did not read that. Thanks ;)

How does one create the directory? Sorry, I am inept at these sort of things. I know most likely I will hit my head on my desk for forgetting but I would much rather have a bump on my head while playing the beta over the alternative.

Go to your windows directory, look for the performance folder, if it is not there, Right click, go to new folder, and name it peformance. Repeat this until you get to your target directory ;)

You can get a rough idea of your free/total HD space by taking the current amounts in GB and multiplying them by 1,024. It's not anywhere near 100% accurate, but it should be accurate enough.

Famous last words about Fire Support if I ever heard any!

Then add all the free/total amounts together and punch 'em into the field.

My problem was it listed my physx secondary card as my primary so I had to correct that. Other than that it did alright.

One thing .. it noted my base clock speed.. 3.3 Ghz.. i'm currently Running at 4.3 GHZ.

Otherwise all good by the looks of it. Little edit on the paste and right as rain.

Worked fine for me, but I had to manually change most of the system information to represent my home computer which I am unfortunately currently away from. Would much rather put forth a 6870 crossfire system than this laptop with a 4200 series mobility card.

Worked for me but only noted 50% of my on-board video ram. No worries though, am upgrading that bit anyways. ;)

CPU discrepancies are likely due to missed Over clocking settings.

Well I am still getting tripped up somewhere along the way, not sure where, so I am going to do it manually, so where would I look on my computer to find all the information I need?

Start Run type dxdiag, select 64 bit run if you have a 64bit OS. All info is there.

Error. .NET4 is up to date. Anything else to try?

Hate to ask this. How does one actually create this directory file?

Norton told me the file is unsafe upon download and deleated it. Guess I'll try the manual method someone above mentioned.
