The only thing i would like more then a single player campaign is a CO-OP campaign! I have some friends who refuse to join me on the battlefield due to the fact that the only option is to play online against others. If there was a co-op campaign they would jump onboard and would then obviously get sucked into playing online aswell

I know the online component is to be completed first but maybe we could get a mode with AI bots to practice with friends?
That can't hardly be a challenge for PGI!! Or could it?

I'd say developing a solid AI is probably the most important/difficult part.

There are so many BT/MW books out there it should not really be a problem to come up with a believable story with some depth to it.

Yeah I wish they'd just made MW5 instead of MWO. Worst thing is that if MWO fails, how long will it be before anyone makes another MW game? Makes me sad but I'm sorry, not enjoying MWO enough to dedicate playtime or money to it.

If they ever put in respawns, I'll come back and check it out.

Voting no on the premise that PGI is not a big enough studio to tackle both projects simultaneously. Since MWO is a FTP game, development will continue basically perpetually.

I've already paid for product that has marginally delivered on some counts, and not yet delivered on others. Not interested in financing another product that may never see proper production. Especially if a chunk of the money going into it goes to other projects, as was rumored with Founder's money.

I think we talk about the same:

Yes, this one, looks gorgeous, destructible enviroments, no automatic enemy pinpoint and bobbleheads.
If can recall right runs on Unreal engine.

ARRRGHHH That's not what my poll asks. It's not "Do you want PGI to do whatever"
The question is: "Do you want a single player campaign." Given that IGP holds the rights to the MW franchise
any studio could do it (like MW tactics is not a PGI product)

Which rumors are you pointing at?
I haven't heard any of those - maybe you can give a link to such rumors?

Glad this thread is getting attention

I think It would be pretty rad to build a cop-op campaign after they finish the multiplayer experience.

And I'd definitely buy into Founders again for I t. Gotta support what you love!

I would rather petition to see the Orion playable sooner than February...

Then in a year lets bug PGI about single player

I can really understand your frustration with PGI. Moreover Duke Nukem Forever as their "flagship" product isn't the best advertisement either. But then this thread is about whether people want a single player MW game and not an evaluation of PGI. This can be done in it's own thread.

So yes I want a story driven MW single player game no matter which company makes it.

I wish they made Duke Nukem Forever because that would be a step up. They only worked on the multiplayer and console ports. Odd innit?

Well your post states "Petition to PGI......" hence my response. Maybe you want to change that to IGP? The holders of the license. I'm of course entirely in support of a story driven MW single player game.

Try a search involving "Founders" "Money" and "Went." The first dozen results are populated with such.

They need this game to become a success before they can even think of a single player game. I would love to have one though.

Mhh okay lots of rumors but nothing conclusive.
I wish PGI/IGP were a bit more transparent...e.g. give a yearly report to the basis like major companies do for their stock holders.

I voted yes but let's face it, PGI does not even have the resources to finish MWO. Whatever they are spending their time on, it is either not this game or they are awfully slow and understaffed. So I would not expect them to be able to pull off a full featured single player game with content for more than a few hours.

They could also integrate a single player campaign into MWO. Either in an open world setting or single player instances. Only drawback would be that you have to be online to play. But there are enough games that do that anyway, even when there is no technical necessity.

Their really isn't much of a need for a petition because PGI has already stated that they really want to do a single player game however they went the F2P multiplayer route because that was all they could get funded. Although microsoft ultimately still owns the license, PGI's contract allows them to basically do what they want with it as long as it doesn't directly interfere with microsoft. They could farm out a single player game like they farmed out Mechwarrior Tactics or they could make it internally. This all depends on how well MWO and Tactics do not how much the fans and PGI want to do it.

If these new mechwarrior/battletech games do well then PGI will have the funding to make their dream projects (like a single player game) themselves or they can convince a publisher that its a worthwhile investment. Basically if you want a single player game convince other people to play MWO and purchase items from the cash shop. Though threads like this are useful to show PGI general fan interest for the idea. For the record I would love another single player game either MW5 or MC3 and I hope PGI is successful in all their endeavors.

So you think they'd actually leak something that said we received $5,000,000 under the implication it would all be used on MWO, but instead it all went to the publisher?

If the community is frustrated at lack of progress and development, what do you think that sort of thing would do? Why would any business want to advertise that kind of diversion of funds?

yes, it is conjecture, but it would explain a lot.

I just hope to get a comment from the devs like "Yes we still want to do it maybe in one or two years."

I answered no to both.

Only cause I don't want them wasting resources they need to get this game off the ground. And No I didn't read the post I just answered the polls questions.
