If the money is good, I'll be there. but with that report on the 29th of November 3049 about the Periphery and Lostech. I thought it was one of the houses managed to get one of thier rare factorys up and running again and testing the new found weapon tech out there. Just incase the other houses slaged it and took it for thier own. thats just my own take on what this might be but I'll make my way to the FRR and offer my services.

I'll be using my Dragon to catch speeders in the FRR. I wonder how big of a citation I can write up for speeding mech pilots through a school zone?

Not a bad thought, eh? Figured I'd settle down, invest in a nice storefront, sell holovids and stereos to the locals. Or maybe join the local militia. Those local militias are always under-supplied, so I hear they pay real well to ex-mercs that can bring their own mech. What a racket, right? Get paid to joy ride in My own mech, maybe fire off a warning shot at some drunk farmer causing trouble in his agromech, easy livin'.
Course' I keep hearing all these spook stories coming out of the periphery. Been talkin' to a few cargo captains who've been worried about the lack of pirate trouble lately. Can you believe that? Even when these cargo jockeys aren't being shot at, they're nervous!

Then again I could sign up with some unit and chase pirates like Redjack Ryan out in the Periphery. Not much left in the IS.

i am a member of the 36th dieron regulars and we where orderd to a large exercise on luzerne.
thats far north near frr/periphery. i mean we are strationed in dieron , planet sappel , the hot zone to davion , terran corridor , sky and they moved us up that far! was not the usual rag tag, it was serious and it was not only us. it was a combind arms exercise together with the 11th vega, the 1st and 13th ghost and ryuken-ni! serious stuff. 5 regiments + some minor militia stuff, havent seen every thing, intensivly exercising offensive drops, defense battles with evacuation etc, the whole progam.
the local command was quiet nervous and we heard roumors about something happening out there in the periphery north of frr systems.
something is fishy, the whole north of the pesht district and the border to frr are in a state of minor alarm. no idear whats going on.
the exercise ended yesterday and we are back in our dropships coupled to the fleet of jumpships but jet to start our jouney back home to sappel.
the dragon showed his claws, aimed at whom? i dont know i am just a ordinary dragon pilot and noone tells me anything. but something is definitly going on.
( the above mentioned units are active mwo chapters, we met on sunday in an attempt to drop prearanged 8v8 units against each others, to get to know each others , to prepare for cw, on the house kurita ts server owned by the 1st ghost regiment. was a nice event.
sadly, due to timezone differences we could not meet all of them, german us oceania are the timezones of the participating units.)

My dear friend, I hear the Periphery Pirates are up to no good again, and I wondered if you might be on some dropship burning hard for some speck of combat even if it were merely against rubbish pilots in duct-taped mechs. Certainly nothing like our glory days in the unit. I remember well when we fought side by side that you were truly the bringer of all hell. But alas, even the hellbringer himself must be having difficulties finding a good fight in these more peaceful times.
I was at the war museum again today, the one where my Catapult now rests. Now I know Betty belongs on the battlefield, not a museum, but my old girl has earned her rest and the curators promised to take very good care of her. On my way home today, something very strange happened and I hope you will read it with interest.
I was taking the trail through the woods by the closed-down sawmill and to my utter disbelief, just beyond a pile of timber, wolves were gathering, and they looked hungry! Luckily I had my trusty musket from the ancient days of the rifleman 2 clench in my hand so I had no fear, and they must have smelled the gunpowder so they did not bother me. Dire wolves by contrast are far more brave, but I didn't see any of those. Good thing too, great death to all who stumble upon those buggers. I remember fondly the days when we too were like a pack of wolves, carrying the honour of battle on our shoulders as our fathers did before.
Alas I continue my trek through the woods, and wouldn't you know it, a falcon! Now when they terraformed this world and transplanted Terran species here I thought surely falcons had not survived the harsh winters, and yet there it was. He looked angry, a jaded falcon if you will. Perhaps it was fighting the wolves for this southern territory where food is aplenty. Or maybe, like all transplanted species, it longed for a return to Terra. I decided to quickly move on remembering 9 years ago in that unusual war, hawks had raided our campsite. Do you remember those maraudic raiders? They were mauraders 2 cheeky to be routed in a day. Do you remember that strange ritual where a witch would summon'er dead bretheren back to life? It seemed to work since those ******** never seemed to run out elite warriors. Good times.
I continue my way to the cabin where I now reside, and a vulpes (also known as a kit fox) runs in front of me! It's yet another animal I didn't think survived the initial transplant. At this rate, what could be next? A jaguar, a viper, a shark? I know there's bears in these woods but like a ghost, bears are hard to find in these parts. Good thing too, the bear species around here are known as kodiaks and one must not under any circumstance allow one to get close. Grizzlies have also been occasionally spotted, but they are not doing well.
Upon returning to my cabin I found my mad dog, Jenner, angry for some unknown reason. I think he dislikes that stone gargoyle I placed near the front door to frighten intruders. I salvaged it and a stone rhino not too long ago. I am unsure what artist would concieve of such things, but exactly where I found these pieces is a story for another day. Regardless, it is odd for Jenner 2 cry out like this.
All these vat-bred animals appearing in front of me, here, now, seems... odd. It's like an omen, if you believe in such things. I sense the coming of a storm, crows are cawing as they do in precedence, and yet, the sky is blue. How strange. Perhaps some star is going nova or some other historic event, surely nothing can break the serenity of the Inner Sphere this coming year.
And yet, despite the serenity, I find myself visiting the museum far too often. Somehow, I feel as though Betty wants to go back to the fields of combat, and me with her.
Hmm... I think that, if there were some new, never before seen elite enemy that needed to be stopped, I would take Betty and join you again, my friend, and together we would route that foe no matter what unusual weapons they possessed. But until then, please, come visit me some time.
Your former lancemate,
