Tell that to dozens of Hunchys and Dragons that tend to die in fire as soon as you break their side torsos. It's no matter of skill. A brawler has to be at the front line, fighting in circles of death against mostly other brawlers. No center torso armor is going to keep you alive when a lucky shot breaches through your side torso while circling, tearing your XL appart.
Let him keep saying that. I LOVE people to use XL engines.

But what is strange: 3D and 4X pictures are completely the same, while 4X should have AC5 in each hand and single LL in center torso along with LRM in.. head, accroding to tabletop.
I only hope it's cockpit hitbox will be smaller than it's drawed. I mean, c'mon, it takes almost all CT and faced directly to enemy.
Btw, there is a correct 4X image on heavy mechs page

THIS and I can't stress how much. It will be the biggest and easiest to hit cockpit so far if it's hitbox is the same as it seems visually on model (i.e. where "windows" are). I really do hope for something like that:
Obviously in TT there's no difference in how large the cockpit looks. Here... size matters . Imo it's ok for PGI to even redraw original mech models so their parts are more balanced in size or at least adjust hitboxes accordingly.

:/ I really hope they pare that down, I've really been looking forward to the Cataphract.

That said... the cockpit being dead center mass is going to make this one to watch. Carefully.

In TT I like the Cathaphract, in MWO it is quite difficult to get its role.
Too vulnerable for a brawler due to its large flat torso with its easy to hit Cockpit, lowest arm weapon position of all mechs in the game, so unsuitable as a sniper, torso AC hardpoint in an stupid position much like the Atlas and last but not least due to its bulky proportions difficult to handle in the City.

My only critique is that the scale is too small. A Centurion in game is taller than the Cataphract, but 20 pounds heavier, and the Cataphract looks to be as tall as a Catapult, and is 10 pounds heavier. Its a beefy looking mech when there's nothing standing next to it to compare it to, but when other mechs are standing around, it looks like one of those short little buff dudes suffering from Napoleon's syndrome trying to flex and look all hard.

I agree. I've been getting the quickest kills on these guys. Close range and semi isolated they down quick to my ac20/srm6 group. And they are slow compared to a dragon(Hate shooting these when on full run).
Jump jets seem to help, as it make it harder to get a good solid hit on the torso/head area.
