Anyone remember MechAssault for the XBox? Let's not go there again. In my personal opinion, MWO shouldn't be yet another Halo, CoD, respawn match where the point of the game is for everything to be absolutely 100% balanced and the only objective is to run-and-gun dying as quickly as possible.
Digital games used to be very much about out smarting your superior opponent, using teamwork to bring down bigger enemies, and investing time and effort to earn bigger rewards. So far, MWO is a good platform with the potential of being a "smart" game. I encourage the community to keep that in mind when posting your wants and desires for the developers to read.

But ONLY if these matches gave NO Exp. NO money, and had NO effect on your kill/death ratio. In other words, they would just be for training, experimenting, testing, and just for fun.

This is exactly the reason why I would love it. A totally statistically inert setting where you could test builds and work on coordination. Shear madness in a game mode that has no real impact on the player, but offers a whacko alternative game mode at the same time.

guess that is better than it ending up more like mechassault with powerups and **** though.

Gonna have to say respawn might be cool in a siege battle but you had to use a different mech from you line-up/hanger, predetermined before the battle. It would be like a wave of lances coming to destroy a landing pad of something.

You mean like the "Dropship mutator" they have planned, 4 mechs lined up one after the other, one dies you mount the next and keep going, something like that?

My point exactly. Noobies could test out mechs and learn the controls. Vets could experiment. Some casual players might stick around longer. They get frustrated when they die one minute into the battle. Let have respawn. Once they want to start playing for rewards, they can jump into the real game.
