And double heat sinks are supposed to be twice as effective than standard. Not 1.4

Okay maybe some of the engine heat sinks are 2 or was it the externals not engine, i cant remember which.

Because having Chrome Spinners on mechs was a bit of overkill.

These actuators prevent dragons from carrying an AC/20.

Solution-Chickens Walkers FTW!!!!

LOL at flying commandos.

Hand actuators should increase the damage you cause to enemy targets when you tackle them, as well as increasing how fast you get up.

Oh wait collision is MIA forget it

I always thought mechs with hands looked silly, especially ones that "hold" a gun in their hands, like the Shadow Hawk, Griffin, Battlemaster, etc.
Give me a Catapult or a Warhammer any day ;)

You have an actuator in order to rock!

I believe that in TT hand actuators make it easier to punch, possible to pick up and carry things (possibly useful in ammo or supply raid missions), and make it easier to get up if you get knocked over.

So, it's mostly going to affect how quckly you can get up when a maximum speed dragon bowls you over.

I remember reading somewhere that the more arm actuators a mech has, the faster it will be able to stand up after getting knocked down. I don't remember where that was (might have just been a rumor), but it seemed like a good idea.

It was certainly suggested by players in CB, as we were seeing Jenners standing up as quickly as Commandos, which just didn't make sense. The Jenner would have to roll around for a bit to even have a chance at getting up...

Imagine if Robocop had dumped his hand actuators in favor of 2xAC20s..

Hands in the lore are VERY useful.

They can pick up and use makeshift clubs (like that 'mechs arm you just blew off); they can hold physical combat weapons, they also play a huge part in being able to get up when you've been knocked over; they make it easier to put your atlas's fist through the cockpit of that annoying raven that fell over in front of you... you can even use them to grab 'mechs that get too close so they can't get away from you... or to help drag battlefield salvage back to home base.

It would be neat to see these things implemented in-game.

Hand actuators slots are really just a leftover from the old tabletop version. Affected matters like getting up faster, brawling, and etc.

Don't believe I have ever seen them get a use in any of the PC/console games. I did like one thread where someone mentioned using em in raiding missions.

Course the hands received much more usage in the books; though, I recal them typically being swapped out to make room for other gear or being ignored in battlefield repairs. Low priority in general.

This.

We need melee, especially kicking.

Someone should start a poll. Wait, nevermind. All you folks with Twitter start badgering them about melee.

well i'm kinda old and my memory is fading but, didn't back in the day, and i mean like, the original, very first mech warrior EVAR you had to fight civilians (which is what machine guns were for) as well as other mechs. I thought i remember being able to smash cargo trucks and stuff too.

edit- which is why you might need 'hands'.

In my opinion they should give mechs with hand actuators an extra X% C-Bills per match, per hand, as they can carry away salvage easier than a mech with no hands.

Because mechs with hands are supposed be able to pick things up. You should be able to pick up trees and use them as clubs. Some mechs have axes and swords. Plus you could punch. Right now they just take up a crit slot. It all comes from the TT games.

I want My Cent To has HAMMER! Kind of like if this guy was beefier.
