So let's see if Dev's want to actually answer this... what is the next hero mech chassis?

We've seen over the past few months the implementation of new battlemechs, but alongside these new chassis we've seen the creation of 'hero' mech variants. So I think it's safe to assume that a new 'hero' mech variant will be released on January 15... the question is to what battlemech?

Speculation can abound, I would rather know about the machine prior to being popped out in the patch notes like the dual dragon hero mechs from December where I wasn't aware of them until the day. So what will be the next hero mech or what would you rather see from the BT universe?

With the in-game year now being 3050, it is possible that we could see the AWS-9Ma as a hero variant of the Awesome in the near future...

"AWS-9Ma - A customized variant of the stock AWS-9M model that was utilized by Adam Steiner during the 1st Somerset Strikers' liberation of Somerset in the midst of the Clan Invasion, the pulse lasers were removed and the AWS-8Q's standard Small Laser restored, the remaining weight devoted to a Guardian ECM Suite, Command Console and two tons of advanced Communications Equipment. The small laser was moved to the left arm, and forty double heat sinks kept things cool."

The Jade Falcon occupation of Somerset (around which the BattleTech cartoon was focused) apparently lasts from May 3050 to November 3050, so Adam Steiner's -9Ma variant would have been created sometime within that period.

this is not a 'mech aymore, it's a freezer.

The guy must have been the beer dispenser for the whole lance or something.

The FRR needs one of those to keep the mead cool (although some pilots like to drink it warm)

Steiner :"follow me, i shall lead you to victory!"
the others: "...meh."
Steiner"....I have beer".
the others: "yay beer! we will follow you to the death!"

And thus House Steiner was born.

Clever fellow.

probably a good time to have a hero assault... I would speculate that PGI would go with a Stalker as they are obviously testing it out extensively with the screenshot today (hiding the arms...mmm... hiding unique hardpoints? )

One of the Stalker variants already in the game is suppose to be able to use the ECM. They just didn't give it to the variant.

Devs have already said they won't put ECM onto a hero mech,
so more ideas are needed ;)
