No, it means the player in question is better than the competiion, which isn't tied at all to your build.
He should take the same build to the 8 manz.

like i said, have yet to find 7 other people worthy of my craptitude to go play in the 8-man pool regularly. on the occasional time i've dipped a toe in i can usually get 2-3 kills before the rest of the almost-pug-8-man gets pwnt. i look forward to a skill-based matchmaking system. i'm far from the best here, but i do enjoy a competitive match and being mech-zilla in the pub pool gets tiring sometimes.

and yes, you got the point that the quality of player isn't tied to the build strictly. which is what a lot of posts seem to contradict currently saying "X is terrible" or "Y should never be on your mech" etc.

So let me get this straight. You posted a crappy build with unrelated image that was supposed to make the obviously crappy build look good just so you could see how many people point out the obvious which was that your build is crap. Then you reveal that the hidden point was that a mech build doesn't matter if you know how to play, and if we look back at the first post of yours that was supposed to make this point; we see a crappy build that you didn't even use which means a mech build does matter because otherwise why would you have changed that crap build you originally posted. And now we are at a point where you argue with individual posts and try to divert attention away from your complete failure of presenting your intented point in your original post. Yeah, you are a clown, noodlesoup.

Well he is just showing off his 1k damage scores. He doesnt really care what anyone says about his build.

meh, some of the comments are valid, and some very observant players actually put some thought into it and derived the truth behind my build.

Strip out the 4 LLas and any other bits of kit until you can fit 4 PPCs, or if you really want to annoy the spreadsheet-warriors take ERPPCs.

This is a fine fine build. Getting rid of the XL engine and putting on the most manly weapon, PPCs, and you are ready. The ER version simply runs very hot so forget about that.

I tried to mix in some streaks into this king-build but found that it disrupted my superior aiming skills with the target seeker. So don't do that. Missiles also make it less pure. I'd rather run with a couple of tons free.

From time to time you will find that lesser players may complain about your king-build. They do this because they are useless and dead so they are watching from your mech in hope of learning how to be useful. Just ignore those people. It is a reason why they are dead while you are pumping out PPC death.

The only weakness of this build is that annoying lights may try to focus you down at very close range. Ignore them. Because they are close they are basically basking in your greatness and that may break their spirit on its own and make them run away. Sometimes your team may even support you but don't count on that. Ignore the light and continue to do your job; taking out everything else.

Edit; about the LLasers: They are fine but cannot compare to the majesty of the PPC.

I don't get it.

Yes, on paper that build is horrible. In reality, however, he's apparently effective with it. The thinly veiled rage over it is hilarious, though.

I would like to see the rest of the build, though.

300 XL Engine, 4xLLs, 0.93 heat efficiency, how can i improve my stalker?

Idk maybe you should run a build that isn't a worse version of a 3D cataphract... You know the mech that can do the same thing but with horizontal tracking arms, better speed, better heat efficiency, and jump jets with the same quad LL's..

Your build is terrible. You're just a decent pilot who happens to (seemingly) play with a scrub after scrub on both teams. Imagine how much better you would do if you went with a build that didn't suck.

Can you edit the front post so people stop thinking all you have is 4x Larges...
He has many other weapons, alpha strike of 102.

Guess: 4x LL, 4x SRM6, 2x SL

usually when one pilot gets a score like that and the rest of the drop gets really low scores like the SS then it's because the rest of the team sucks.

I dunno... it's actually pretty typical for me to get 1000+ damage during a match.

Yea made me a sad panda, but even with jets (taking off heatsinks or downgrading engine) it would still be superior on all areas besides armor
