So I built several paper mech models (mostly designed by Blaar and Shiftdel i think). But my collection of assaults is missing the biggest guy. I quite dislike MW4 design of Atlas so conversion from game files was out of question.

But then MW:O came out and boy...does he look awesometastic in new design?

Thanks to this topic I was able to bring PGI model into software and start building my own simplified version for papercraft.

This is what i got so far.

Well i kept detail level pretty high...i fear too high for paper model. Posted Image (it's supposed to be in scale with Mauler and Awesome which are about 27cm tall)
There are not many difficult shapes, most of them are just slightly modified boxes....but there's a lot of them.

Can't wait to paint some textures on this guy. Posted Image

EDIT: Finished papercraft is out

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B30IbVfDs_fSVmgxTzlPbzVCeWs/edit?usp=sharing

The exported PNG images will result in 320 mm tall mech. I also included .pdo file if you wanna do any rescaling. (and also for checking corresponding faces since it's not entirely obvious where many parts go )

EDIT2: Finished founders skin

Perhaps you could show us a few of your finished papermechs?

This is what I have built. Untextured Thanatos on the right is my first attempt to design my own paper mech. Sadly it's way out of scale. (also sorry for the picture quality - taken with phone camera)

Atlas model is now finished. I felt like doing proper render this time.

Most left is original Atlas by PGI (well i think is pretty obvious)

Texturing time!

This is going to be the best paper mech ever .......... seriously good work you are doing.

Are you planning on doing more after this ? Or is the Atlas a one time thing only ?

I'm not sure about making more yet. I'd like to finish this one in real life first which usually takes huge amount of time with my laziness :)

I'd suggest the Founder paint scheme. Looks cool, but one question, did you factor in articulation, IE joints for the hips, shoulders, knees and such?

Arms should be able to mount full set of joints (shoulder joints in both x and y axes + elbow joint ) but legs are static. I couldn't figure the way to mount leg joints without changing the look too much.

I could even use the blocky first pass version in paper form for what I want to do. Which is of course to transfer it to styrene and make a plastic model.

THAT, I would like to see. I like your work and think you would do the mech justice.

Allow me to present - scratch pass. This fella has seen some fight. (don't mind the red color - just temporary so scratches would be visible)

Are you kidding me , that looks amazing ..... so say the least.

Maybe add a few scratches /weathering to the head too just to round if off nicely :P

Yes...I see a paper to plastic conversion here. You going to tackle this one Coop? Or do we need to do a co-op build?
