Some folks don't get it, or simply refuse to. For you and I, while anyone prefers a win, I know that we both prefer good hard fought games. .

I wish more people would like "hard fought games" so they would stop dropping against PuGs for easy wins...because 80-90% of the time there is no hard fight with a four man group going up againts a group of newbs and pugs.

Um... don't know what game you're playing but I have had many hard fought battles with PUGs. Good Pugs fight with coordination and challenge and beat 4 mans often enough. Or my K/D W/L records would be much higher.

One of the reasons PUGs lose to Premades is lack of communication. To solve this problem, I can think of two solutions:

1. Create an in-game voice system so that everyone has access to voice communication.

2. The second solution is to create a "commo rose" system. This is what BF3 has. Here is a screen shot of it:

Posted Image

You press a keyboard key to bring up this visual menu. You then use your mouse to select what you'd like to say. Other players that are nearby will hear a voice saying what you selected. We could apply this to MWO with our own lingo. Perhaps the community could chime in and give suggestions. Even better, maybe there would be an option for us to set up our own words; when we select them, they appear in text chat.

I'm not sure if creating VOIP is the complete answer because, like others have mentioned, not everyone is comfortable talking to strangers and sometimes you can't talk-- late at night, family is asleep, etc.

By creating a Commo Rose system, it ensures that everyone has access to some form of communication.

That is an elegant solution, though part of the fundamental issue here is that many pugs explicitly reject any communication, coordination or team effort. These are people whose chosen philosophy to playing is 'fan out and shoot each other', and they're coming here seeking retribution against those who righteously steamroll them face-first into their own glaring inadequacy. Some seriously-appropos Thulsa Doom reference in the preceding pages..

VoIP coordinated Teams who have fought together before will always have an advantage over a typing PUG. No amount of nifty matchmaking systems will change that. If you don't want to talk to people, then you need to deal with the pugstomp.

Yes, I'm sure you're not just a very average player who thinks because he always wins doing 4mans that he is an elite player. I pug probably 80% of the time, but when I do premades I see a large percentage of players that are very below average in their individual skill level.

I honestly never got the whiners either. Most pugs are ok, but when the whiners come here and demand that people playing a team based game as a team get punished, or that playing a team based game as a solo player get made easier for them, without any effort on their part... It's just stupid.

Yeah tell me about it!

Why fight on a level playing field and only winning half your matches when you can fight unorganized pugs without the benefit of coms or knowing what their teammates are going to be dropping with before the match and win almost all the time?

Seriously. Who want's a fair match when you can have nearly every drop stacked in your favor?

No one is asking for the game to be made easier, they're asking for it to be made fair.

That is good.. im glad you enjoy dropping in 4 mans. I am sure the high win % helps make that experience more enjoyable for you. The more you enjoy "that"... the less we (solo's) enjoy the game.

Your statement, I have fun in 4 mans and as part of a gaming group, did not relate to whether PGI can retain Lone-Wolf players, solely on the basis of hope that solaris might come, someday.

We are jsut speculating that someday loners may have a place.. and thats not very reassuring.

What makes you think I give a sailing crap about your game?

I hate to break it to you I'm not playing to lose so I'll stack the deck in my favor, if you chose not to, that is on you. I give exactly 0 *****.

I don't think you know your audience very well, there are different kinds of lone-wolves in your game. Some casual, some pro, some retired-pro... generalizing us, leaves you with an argument that both misses the mark, and reinforces the "arrogant premade" image.

Beautiful, I am going to have this made into a T-Shirt. I am going to make some stereotypes here with out articulating them, chuckle to myself, and stroll along...

PS.. Logic in the eyes of a developer, should resound in market share. Individuals like yourself, are the primary reason, this game has such retention issues.

Of course you use every advantage you can, and if a hack were obtainable, you'd be rocking that too.. I have met a YOU in every game I have tried. Enjoy it while it lasts.

It's blind stupidity actually. How freaking dense are you? It's not about whether installing and joining TS is easy or not.....it's sooooooo not even about that. I swear some of you can't understand the most basic of concepts.

No, like I said the means to group up and meet on equal footing are there, if you choose not to use them its YOUR problem, not mine.

If you don't like it tough, that is how it is.

So what is the concept, if you are getting stomped by premades GROUP UP, its not hard it doesn't take long, it doesn't even require a $10 mic.

If you don't though noodles.

You have no idea what merit is.

This is why the majority of 4 mans cant hang in 8 mans.... works for us though.. when and if this gets to clan war stage.. wont be much competition for taking land in Europe.

Nope, unless that old lady is driving an Altas an in my way.

So, what's the problem with 4 average players making up their deficiencies with Voip and enabling to take out the 'elite' loner players? Since when is it so hard to download TS3 and make use of the friends list...

I can hang in 8 mans to, they are kind of hard to find when I play though. I'm actively working on that.

We've pretty much proven at this point Europeans kinda suck at taking land in Europe, they need the US or they are screwed generally.

I am a very average player. I just know about stuff like focused fire, target calling, fitting as a team with strategy in mind, knowing and using terrain, coordinating movement, etc. and that ultimately makes
myself and whoever I'm with (it's a revolving door on c3, pugs on comms) win 80% of games played against quite-possibly-above-average players like yourself who, in their infinite wisdom, favour the 'fan out and die' approach. I'm sure your superior aim and piloting get an opportunity to showcase themselves as you tumble down the hillside like a smoking ragdoll with an ac20 shell or 10 sticking out of your *********, telling yourself how superior a player you are all the while....

Know that few things in life delight me half so much as making your sort taste defeat like an ***-flavoured cupcake.
