Just curious; which mech is the biggest cheesiest build? One that is too OP and/or requires little skill to play? Did I miss any?

A lot of the builds you actually listed aren't even remotely "cheese".

So my Stalker 5M with 4xSRM6s w/ Art and 4xMLs is cheesy?

Hmm. I thought that I had to spend a lot of my time mitigating damage to myself. Closing in on enemy mechs without getting pummeled and aiming at and hitting my targets to be successful.

I had no idea that my mech was an "Easy Button" . I must really suck.

Or you spend all your time after a match figuring out how everyone that has ever killed you did it with a cheese build.

most if not all of the builds you list have massive drawbacks alongside being good in their chosen field... if someone is good at playing them and my team mates totally neglect to help me take one down then props to the user and boo hiss to my team

the 3L seems not to have any significant downsides in and of itself (except being a light mech) but most of it's advantages come from netcode and hitbox issues, which are bugs rather than intended

6xLRM5+Artemis is just silly. 5s are already packed tight enough without it.

I listed many mechs that I personally don't see as cheesy (like the Ilya). I also realize many mechs have tradeoffs that make them more skill then people realize. I only listed some of those because people have pointed fingers at them in the past as being cheesy. Or because they are the epitome of that chassis. Listed for completeness mostly.

You forgot the 5 or 6 PPC boat Stalker, you know, the massive phallic looking thing that looks at you and your screen goes red as you get one shotted...

*Note that I drive one on occasion, it is definitely cheese, with time outs. ;)

Ohhhh...this was such a hard choice between the SRM6 cat the and Raven 3L. But in the end it was obvious. There are only so much SRM6 cats but the Raven 3L is omnipotent.

Plus its either their visible warping around (lagshield) or the bad netcode (hit detection) that is making them almost impossible to kill. With the amount of fire I usually put into them I could kill at least three mediums and the game always tells me "yes, you hit" (red crossair) but their armor soaks it up, salvo after salvo.

It is rediculous and it is frustrating like hell. A few more weeks like this and the game is dead for me.

This poll is meaningless. One time is was LRM boat's, then streaks and so on...

Next it is going to be anyone who is faster than an Atlas is cheese, or anyone that has more than 2 types of weapons.

Who are you, or I, or anyone else to call someone's build cheese? What makes your mech so uber? <insert answer then call it cheese>
I personally think any player who can load out just LRM's, or streaks, or 2 gauss, or whatever and use them well and kick butt, deserves praise. Not to be called cheese. You know how hard it is to survive with LRM's only and 1 or 2 lights on you? Takes big un's.

So what makes your build so uber that it's not cheese?

My personal opinion is that when someone downs someone else for what they have, their build, loadout, style, and so on, is that they are either jealous, got their butt kicked, or not bright enough to counter the "cheese".

Dual Ac/20 Cat but only on certain maps. On maps like Casutic, over heat a lot and don't have lots of closing room to get in on people to lol 40 alpha strike someone in the face with it. Mine has 2 ML as well but I go at 57 KMP only :)

The Raven-3L is only cheese untill lagshield and netcode gets fixed. After that, it's not cheese. It's a good scout.

This poll is cheese. Every single build has a counter to it, netcode doesn't make a build cheesy. Its broken netcode. ECM isn't cheesy, its a viable option. With the hardpoint system, all are viable options. Do you know what IS cheesy? TT builds that allow generic chassis based on weight, allowing you to make a generic mech.

the only cheese mechs are: Thundercat / Gaussapult /PPC Stalker or lightning **** as I call em. Simply because they do not have the Torso the others get with the big cannon and its lame and not cool for the other cannon tottin mechs. If they had cannons with stubs for arms I wouldnt mind em. Personally I think a stalker with 6 ppc tubes would look kick butt.

I run a cheesy ECM Commando with a single ER Large Laser.

Most broken thing I have ever thought about. I can sit back at 600m+ and snipe away with this 9pt weapon and people dont know I am there. Or I will spot and wait for the LRMs to rain in and as they hit I shoot the target with my ERLL, so they dont know I am firing at them. Thats always fun.
