On topic: I'm pretty sure that the new profile pic is one of the pre-MWO works of Flyingdebris, who is also responsible for the MWO concept art and whose Atlas we are steering. I think it that particular picture didn't have much to do with BT but with 'Mecha in general. I like it. It is as dark and gloomy as I'd expect the 31th century to be.

I'm afraid that's not meant to represent the Commando but the Quickdraw ( http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Quickdraw ). But yeah, codpiece nevertheless
He was the artist whose visualizations of BT stuff brought the whole universe to life for me because they really convey its very essence imo.

Yeah, Sigma Leader was obviously using the old "keep the PUGs together by having everyone keep up with the fastest 'mech" approach... and the Cougar and Raven were apparently running 48kph joke builds.

The new mechwarrior pilot picture looks more like a robot than a mechwarrior!

To me that does not look like a mechwarrior at all. People who have a long history of playing BT and MW expects a pilot to look in a certain way and i am sorry but this picture isnt it.
