Because former LRMboats still refuse to put a TAG on their mech.

All I know is the Awesome is the worst MWO mech. Weaker than the HBK and fewer hardpoints, rated as an Assault for some reason on drops.

I do get tired of being ***** in the face with 6 srms6s. I can deal with light mechs especially those pesky ravens (lbxs are your friend). Its just those srm catapults that can move way to fast.

OOHHHH wait that is supposed to be an insult because I have a job and can afford to be a gold. Sorry you are broke people. I'm not going to feel very bad because you work at Mickey-D's.

My bad.

SRM cats are pretty fragile, they are a LOT of fun, but if you can keep them swinging side to side its quite hard to land a full volley.

I can fight it out with any mech and stand a chance... except an ECM Raven. I have no counter for them. The only way I down one of those is if it is engaged with another mech and I manage a lucky shot or the Raven pilot hits something and stops for a moment and I get a lucky shot. I say lucky because even if the Raven is running into a building, I still don't seem to do full damage on it.

Something about the speed, armor, weapons, ecm, and hitbox of the raven 3L definitely makes it the single best mech right now. I drive a majority of the ones on this list or have fought the ones I dont have a lot and the raven is the only one that can "dodge" damage (lag shield) and still manage to murder. Im not saying nerf the raven or ecm, but better netcode would be nice, and some better hit recognition on the raven.

They don't really have to dodge, NO other mech in the game will stand in front of an atlas and eat a full alpha and run away with yellow armor.

Some mechs are obviously quite OP... so lets get a community poll on which ones they think are the most OP mechs.

To me, Raven 3L is without doubt at the top of this list.

Best speed, great armaments, ECM - it can take down any other mech in this game 1 on 1. It'll even wipe out an Atlas D-DC given enough time.

It's the mech I get into when I want to play easy mode.

Every single mech on that list needs to be reworked. Either because of ECM or boating weapons.

The Raven isn't that OP, just in groups really. I tend to kill them with my dragon more often than not. Its when you have premades with 3-4 of them that things get stupid

Raven 3L isn't worse than the Commando 2D. These mechs just have advantages because of the weak netcode and messed up hitboxes.
Also, you forgot the Cataphract 4X with 4 AC/UAC.

Doubtful. The D-DC pilot would need to be both significantly less skilled than the raven pilot and not using a build that uses streaks in order for the 3L to win. Otherwise 3>2 SSRMs and the Atlas also has more armor and chance of landing lucky crushing blows with gauss/ac20/dual acWhatevers and its energy weapons (LL or PPCs).

I do think that the 3L is probably scarier to any other mech out there than the DDC which is not much scarier than any other Atlas.

I wish there was a "I do not think any variant is OP" option in the poll.

I believe that if this poll had been posted this prior to the introduction of ECM some people would have said the Jenner D due to "broken hit boxes", its high speed "lagshield", and the " broken netcode". I suspect it would have been one of the more popular choices.

Post ECM: The Jenner's speed is unchanged, the hit boxes are unchanged, and netcode is the same... And it does not even make the list. Funny how things change.

I agree with your post, I think a lot of people use those quoted buzzwords to cover the fact they just have trouble hitting small fast moving targets.

However you didn't mention the small but crucial fact that they just broke the Jenner's jump jets, which were arguably its greatest advantage over other lights and over every other mech in the game, really. I don't object whatsoever to paying 2.5 tons for JJs, in fact that change needed to be made, but after doing so I expect to at least be able to have the same JJ performance as we had before they messed with em. Now JJs are slow, sluggish and basically a waste of tonnage. Making the jenner itself more slow and sluggish and driving this once mighty mech to the bottom of the light mech pack.

.

This poll is a short sighted poll. It is not the mech chassis that is OP. Both ECM and streaks are unbalanced on their own. Putting them together just compounds the balance issue.

Demanding that the chassis needs to be nerfed, a rather silly idea, is not going to salve any thing. Fix the equipment that is causing the problem.

I don't see why ECM lights are any harder to kill than regular ones in a 1v1... as long as you don't rely on streaks.

There really isn't anything I'd say is OP right now.

ECM itself is a bit too powerful though. The worst part about it seems to be the loss of situational awareness rather than the loss of lock ons.

I would suggest that the variants of the Catapult frame allow for the cheesiest of cheese builds.

Especially once netcode and hitboxes are sorted out.

I voted
RVN-3L
COM-2D

STK-3F:
1) since the only thing left for the Awesome is maneuverability the 85° seems too much
2) since all STK variants are basically the same why use anything else than a 3F?

Edit: I think the D-DC is okay. Just not packs of 2-4 of them. This should just be prevented by the matchmaker.

I voted for the Raven, but basically, the issue is ECM in general. It does what it should do, and then it also invalidates about two thirds of the missile category. LRMs, now nearly useless. Streak SRMs, almost completely unusable on ECM enemies. If you're playing a missile boat, ECM will ruin every game for you.
