its the best there is at the moment and can be improved. you don't like it - don't use it.

Smurfy? yeah, it's so easy to trade builds with friends in Vent chat or adjust things your buddy is working on.

we've got 5 mechlabs exactly like this, smurfy is the only one that doesn't need to be downloaded and can be linked on the fly.

Theres no reason for the waste in time and effort, it's no test to the human spirit, it's just dumb.

you can deal with it.

smurfy has its issues too and as I said, personally this one i found to be the best for me. don't use it if you don't like it, is not that someone forces you to use this one.

Maybe a color change although i get used to it as it is lol.
Also I would suggest to add weapons and engine caractheristics directly on them when you add them to the mech. There is enough space to add range/damage/heat/weight even for the 1 crit weapons...adn will be usefull to see them there all the time, I know i would like to see them there :D.

another thing - maybe add the possibility to set the timescale on the firepower analysis. default is 10 sec but i want to see over 20 for example and set it as default.

put a max armour button to fill instantly the armor.

thanks for the program and don't let it die, don't pay attention to others who were bashing your work. It is a great program.

Planning to put the color of weapons/ammo/modules into user settings in the future .
For weapons, there is a tooltip that shows a bit more info. I'll try to see if I can add more information, but I want to ensure everything is still readable on medium resolution (1280x1024).
Remembering the last used time as the default for the next simulation is a good idea, I'll add it to the to-do list. Also for the 'max armor'. Thinking of which, I might do a 'distribute x tons of armor'. So it just sets enough armor to distribute the specified weight.

another suggestion - add the c-bill price and mc price where there is one for mechs/items. Probably it can be imported from game files aswell.

thanks.

I would like to add them, but haven't found them in the files yet. It would be nice to have some sort of BoM (Bill Of Material) overview, that just lists all the things you need, but it would be pretty useless without the c-bills/MC price. For me it is not a high priority.

It was a long drive home and I'm tired so I'll bite.
I have only taken a short look at smurphy a few days ago and can't say anything bad about it. It looks nice, seems complete for a mechlab and like you say, it is easy to share mechs with it.

Does that make it the one tool for everybody: nop.

Just like CocaCola is not the one cola brand for everybody: some prefer Pepsi or even something else. This is not a beauty contest or presidential race where there can be only 1. I see both smurphy and my tool as a service to the community, trying to help the community. Everybody has his/her own preference and we can all be happy since different tools are available.
Hell, if I had the time for it, I would try to work together with smurphy: somehow copying mechs easily between the two programs so everybody can use either tool for its strength: smurphy has the ease in sharing, mine will be a much more in-depth analysis of a mech performance. Considering my wishlist, I wont have much time for it anytime soon, but I'm open to the suggestion.

Since this is a community and not a presidential race, there is no need to be negative about something you don't like. All you have to do is ignore it, if nobody likes the program there will be no suggestions for new features or other things.
Why should anybody's view be more important than others? I prefer "live and let live".

Hey, conner is giving you free advertising AND making himself look like a child with his rants, I would thank him for the posts :D

Ill try it out, see if I like it. I like the web based apps, but a version I could use offline would be nice.

I can't get this to work, every time I get this error: http://gyazo.com/4f0...323cc898e02f286

I've tried the usual stuff. Running as admin, reinstalling both the program and MWO and so on but I still get the same error. Mechbuilder installed to default directory and MWO is at d:\Mechwarrior Online\ if that matters.

Up until smurfy, I didn't use any of them. The best part is, I can just throw out a link.
No install, or anything.

Oh, you want help with your atlas build? Make it here and let me have a look. Okay, this what I'd run.
Done.

luckly we live in times where you can't tell me what to like and what to do...and since I like this program and I want it to get better I will continue to add suggestions and try to help wile ee to improve his work, even if it is not much.

stop acting like a douche and grow up. No one tells you what to use. so stop telling others what to do.

I have to try it tonight.
There are a lot of cool mech labs out there, and each tends to have its own perks. For forum use, I prefer the online tools, I think, but if this tool for example provide a more in-depth analysis, that would be a key feature to make it interesting.

One thing every mech lab writer should consider:
Can you write to export and import that could also export to MegaMek or Skunk Mechworks?

anybody got something that I can use on my iPhone? That would rock!

But in the interim, thank you for this. I don't always have an internet connection when the build bug hits.
