Again, game with two 3l's and 2 DDC's...

They just creep up and cancel all your weapons.

I have no idea why this turned into the fallacy that it is now.
The rules were written a long time ago...

Will try new patch for a couple of games, but if there is no change to ECM
or how BAP IS SUPPOSED to help with it, I will spend my time doing something else.

BUT TOMORROW.
IS PATCH DAY.....

I'm eager to hop in a spider and roam the earth. Travel to work in it and back. Fly around (hoping that JJ's are fixed). Fun stuff. If JJ's aren't fixed though, I'm not buying a Spider.
I don't care about ECM, complaining about it doesn't do anything and we all know there's other things to come to counter it, so I don't understand the kerfuffle about it.

Three possibilities tomorrow:

1: ECM is tweaked.
2: ECM is taken out.
3: ECM is buffed.

Place your bets.

I GUESS there are 4 possibilities. The 4th being NOTHING done to ECM. In that case I'll be playing Farmville or Neopets until they stop huffing bags of gas while doing strategy sessions on their dev path.

Nothing will be done to ECM, they put it to print it's working as intended for a while now, and name one time PGI has admitted screwing something up after saying it was working as intended.. I'd rather see them fess up and fix it than leave it untouched because they don't want to look like fools from their statements about ecm being fine as it is on pc gamer and other sites.

I'm hoping they realize that ECM is doing the exact opposite and make players take advantage of the equipment, not playing smarter at all.

But, if I was at a casino and placing a bet. I'd put $200 on no changes to ECM are made, players extremely frustrated that they cannot even enjoy playing a Spider because of the horde of Ravens using SSRMs that are still imbalanced.

They don't cancel all your weapons, just the ones that automatically target for you. You can still use all your weapons that you have to aim yourself. Scandalous!

Repair and Rearm, Collisions, Artemis LRMs ...

They have stated they screwed up quite a few things, actually.

I'd place a significant sum on no changes too... and now that you mention it... I stand corrected,.. just so many screwups, it seems normal and expected from PGI now

That's rich.

The entire way ECM works is a disaster and the longer they cling to it, the longer the game bleeds out.

They decided to make ECM a hammer instead of a support tech. Something that is good when used properly.

Right now it's a holynewbgrail of getting kills instead of a niche piece of tech that needs some finesse to use properly with your team, not this license to kill....with perks....at a killer discount rate in tonnage.

It seems they just start coding concepts and dump them in the game, hoping they all gel together and work without much forethought into how these damn mechanics and tech will ACTUALLY work when given to players.

Really? Ecm cancelled out your direct fire weapons? I have to ask, are yoh smoking crack? L2play without your crutch of lock on weapons or dude this game just aint for you.

Learn to lead fire and you'll kill lights just fine. I have no problems with lights even with ballistics once I get 1-2 shots to adjust for their speed.

There is no shield that stops them from taking damage if you find the sweet lead spot. Unless you're a no skill player that relies on autolock, auto guided cheese to do damage. If so I only laugh at you.

1. Never had ECM cancel my lasers - could be a rare bug or something.
2. BAP was never supposed to be of any help against an ECM-carrier, ECM completely negates the effect of BAP.

Alot of the complaints about ECM and streaks are actually complaints about lag shield.

I personally feel like disconnecting when Im getting orbited by a ECM commando with streaks that I Just. Cannot. Hit.

Yeah we all try to lead the target for lagshield, but no one can seriously be suggesting that this is 100% working as intended.
