I saw that there was a topic on favorite mechs and i also replied to it that i liked the madcat. but i realized that it is hard to say which mech i like because they are all soo cool and are good for different combat roles. For example i love the madcat because it is a clan mech and it is iconic but i also love the hunchback for its close range tko but it is flawed through range. The axman is awsome but doesnt stand up to a centurain with good ranged weapons. So what i am sying is that picking a favorite meck is like picking a favorite child. But what i want to know is which battlemechs are mechs that people hate. I for one dislike the hunckback IIC and the fireant

Well, something like Imp and Jagermech comes to my mind. :D

But most mechs have something worth buying them for and hating them is a stupid idea.

P.S. My bro hates Urbie, because after he laughed at it so hard, it pwned him in MW2: Mercs while he piloted a Stalker. :D

I dislike the Timberwolf / Mad Cat :D

or rather, the MK II version. Really ruined the awesomeness of the Timberwolf, although both I dislike piloting in the Mechwarrior games due to how easy it is to be hit with the size of it's torso.

WHT-1S Whitworth. Too slow to bring its short-range weapons load to bear against others in its class, to lightly armored to survive the slow lumber into short range against anything heavier. We used to refer to it as (something else that rhymes with 'whit')-worth, because that's what it was worth.

Never could stand the Ostsol. I could tolerate the Ostroc, but the Ostsol just grated on my nerves visually and in battle.

Ostsol, Ostroc, Ostscout and the Urbanmech. So ugly I wouldn't let my dog **** 'em.

Agree with you there. They took a cool 'mech and replaced it with it's lanky/gangling/clumsy cousin. Hate the way it walks and looks. And the fact that it seemed to be the choice of every other pilot for 1v1 challenges :D

The Goliath, Charger, and ...I'm sorry, but I'm gonna be honest here...the Jenner.

A walking tank, a 5/8 assault with small lasers, and that doorstop-looking POS?

Mad Cat looks ridiculous with its flimsy arms just waiting to be shot off and gargantual cockpit screaming **** me here, at least in catapult case it made sense since it was designed as fire support mech but Mad Cat is a brawler and its design makes no sense.

i was always kind of repulsed by the catapult visually because of its gigantic missile racks, but i did enjoy piloting it.

in more modern games the madcat looks cooler than it did in the older 1s so you have a point there sir. But in MW4 and mechassault they looked neat

Of the old designs, I just can't get behind the Wolverine or the Marauder.

Sure, the Marauder was supposed to be a revolutionary design, but it's got flimsy arms, chicken legs and a cannon on it's head that would be able to be disabled with even a glancing blow from nearly any Mech weapon.

I'm also not a big fan of any Mech that looks like it's "holding" one of it's weapons. They are part of the arms! Not some hand held gunslingers pistol! Why bother having hand actuators for punching if you are just going to mount a gun to it?!

  • Everything that begins with "Ost" is crap.
  • Shadow Hawk and Pheonix Hawk. I didn't like them now, and I didn't like them then. Come at me, oldfans.
  • For even more shock and awe, I don't like Battlemaster either. Why is holding a gun? Why not have the gun built in?
  • Annihiliator. It looks like an awful and fat man/woman hybrid giving birth to triplets.
  • Pretty much every "IIC" damnation.
  • I don't like Atlas. I just don't. I'm sorry. I hate it even though I shouldn't. Why don't I like it? I think it sucks.

i hate quad mechs, theyre all uselessly underarmed for their weights, cant turn for spit, and once you hit one of the legs off they can barely move.

The Atlas

more than that, I really don't like the Ost series, or the Fireball. Yes it is faster than a dasher. it also has only a machine gun and an srm2
