They have said something like this a dozen times.
It calms folks down usually for about 3 hours before the next round of "WHY DON'T DEVS LISTEN? PGI IS TURRIBLE!" starts.

I personally go through the forums every day (including weekends and after work). I know you're all clamoring for information but there's a time and place for every bit of info we release. Hot topic: ECM... yes... I've got a write up on our stance on the situation but I will not release it until I can confirm 2 features I want in the game before I do so.
All I can say right now is please be patient. Contrary to what a vocal minority might think, we are not ignoring you.
Sorry to say this Paul, but again wrong,
You have here a Corner called Developers Blog, maybe making a real Developers Blog with
Announcements would be Deflame this Forum. Yes it would raise some Expectations (but there had been a lot) about
Nerfes Patches etc. But a simple Message:
Currently we are Investigation further Balancing Issues in the Connection with ECM.
We want to test two Modules which should work as Counter for ECM first.
Further Informations are comming soon.
Such a Message about 2 Weeks earlier would have killed tons of Negativ Flamings here,
especially as at one Point your commend: ECM is working as intended was quoted.
The same is about the Netcode stuff, it is somewhere buried here in the Forum and it will simply die.
But such Informations should be highlighted and highlighted EARLY before a ****storm goes out of Hands.
Lot of Time of the Dev's was wasted Monitoring the Forum about the whole Messages this Mess generated
and what could have been prevented.
So please putt up a Corner where it is easy to find and Highlighted.
But Thanks for the Information.
But they should be copied into the Developers Blog FAST, because nobody did quote them so they simply went down here.

Thank you for the response, but I just want to express my concern on this. If these features are hard counters to ECM, then it is just going to increase the arms race feeling of the game. It will turn into this. ECM will becomes useless since it's so powerful everyone takes these hardcounters, or it will become kinda like it is now with the most hardcounters on teh opposite team has a huge advantage.
If these features are a soft counter, they will probably end up like TAG. Possible, but rarely worth the effort to employ. Basically I feel that as long as the ECM remains a hardcounter to so many things, it can't be balanced well.

Really? Let's see you find 2, let alone a dozen, dev posts relating to ECM being revised and or looked at on these forums.
Dev Blog - no
Q/A - no
Command Chair - no
200+pages of ECM Feedback/complaint threads? - none I could find without spending 20 hours reading
Point being, the devs have means of communication set up here. If they used it, the frustration would be a lot less. That's my sincere suggestion to PGI. At least for subjects/issues as game impacting as this.

And frankly, putting up with some forum trolls is probably better in the long term than going into an echo chamber of professional sycophants and people who are completely ignorant of how your game plays, write the people who do understand it off as a "vocal minority" and make decisions that run your game into the ground in the process...

Focus groups pull people from more than just fans of the IP. Thus they typically give a better overall picture of the actual standing of the item than a forum full of passionate fans of the IP.

It's good to see this MWO getting the feedback it deserves out there, be it good or bad, as it keeps the devs on the nose and not ignored or disregarded as many have been as of late.
If not for the so called "vocal minority" it would of been just more of the same old silence.
Facebook ftw

wish you gave us that kinda reply about knockdowns, this was professional. simply shouting NO is not.
funny how it's suddenly emerged again, old haunts... they're coming back! the problems they don't go away!!!!!

still this thread should be locked now, it's a stupid idea to clog up everywhere else when the forum was made for it.
Welcome to forums. The first rule of forums is: you do not talk outside forums. The second rule of forums is: you DO NOT talk about forums outside forums!

It's also refreshing that many loud mouth fanboys don't go on facebook, or hide their names and pics, it seems speaking whilst being accountable is too much for them.. Leave the faceless keyboard warriors here and go on a medium where you can show your face and others have to show theirs.. Makes for a more substantial exchange.

Such posts are helpful. Even if you can't give us specific reaction yet, knowing something is in the works is helpful. It reduces the need to repeat oneself in hope of finally getting heard, because - okay, you hear us apparantly.
Whether we'll like what you come up with we don't know yet, but at least we have something.
