When I found this game by accident I was overwhelmed with excitement, I have played all the last series and other mech games but when I saw MWO I was uber excited. Now after playing it for a few months, studying the progression from the start and researching the future development I have become disheartened and underwhelmed.

Yes yes I like the game however I see the path following such titles as aceonline where it is more a P2W game than a quality product. The MW series was so outstanding I feel that a Major developer should have picked up the stick. I am pleased that someone picked up the banner and has pushed it forward but I fear that PGI possibly does not have the finances or the skill set or the mind set to give MW what it truely deserves and will turn it to a cash cow. With the lack of quality product and lack of listening to the player base I see a very subpar game. I hope with everything that I am worth I am gravely wrong and PGI turns over a new leaf but spewing forth new broken items ie: ECM Spider and Hero Commando and not fixing the basics like Worthless Mech Lab, lame radio chatter on front page, very poor netcode. I am left to wonder What is the Direction we are going.

Haven't even bothered to download the latest patch.

Each new build is progressively worse than the one before. And each one adds more to the never ending list of broken things that probably will never be fixed.

All my friends who started at the same time with founders accounts have stopped playing too.

Guess I'm just here to read patch notes and hope one day things might make a turn for the better. And it's sort of like stopping to see a bad train or car wreck. Maybe you'll see a mangled body or something you don't normally see.

I still patch the game and sometimes bother logging in, but I can't remember the last time I could tolerate "playing" more than three matches in a row

The domination of light 'Mechs due to artificial lag armor in conjunction with ECM becoming one of the major contributing factors of success in competitive play has really slowed my group down in this game. We use to have multiple 8-man drops every night, now we usually have a four man and change.

I play a few games mid-day during my breaks, because the pugstomping that goes on at night pretty much ruins it for me.

Daytime games seem to show a wider variety of mechs and strategies (or lack thereof) and not quite as heavy on the ECM.

Other than that, the game is shaping up okay. They haven't hit on the 'fun' combination for me as yet, which is kind of odd as I am generally a total fanatic for a new game in a setting I like. (big BT fan since TT days)

Part of it is the massive repetition. Same maps, same mechs, same strats. Have to grind the same mech over and over and over again to get the C-bills to buy the NEXT mech. Which is, of course, going to be a slightly different version of the 'mech I just ground for days because I have to grind 3 of the same thing to become qualified in it.

I don't get to tinker with new toys much, because just slapping on DHS or a couple LBX-10s or a new engine requires hours of cash grinding that I need for my next mech.

I don't face interesting choices in my tech/exp trees, because they are the same thing repeated endlessly on each mech.

I'm not going to drop MC to speed through any of those choices, because frankly the game hasn't proven to be fun enough to justify it yet.

So all in all, I love the concept. I *applaud* PGI for tackling it. I think they HAVE done a lot of extremely good work so far. The basics of a really good game are in place here.

I am just stating (not hating) that factually, for me, at this point, I play about 8 matches a day in a couple of mechs. This nets me a tech advance and roughly 500,000 c-bills.

I will plod away like that and occasionally try a new build or a new mech, and patiently wait and do what I can to help make the game better. Hopefully with constructive advice instead of the usual whine-and-cheese fests we see too much of.

I'll only come back to stay if the devs finally realize that Mechwarrior is too complex to force a WoT clone onto the universe and get away with it.

8v8 is for console kids for example.

Have to say I have really been pushed away mainly do to the fact its not complete yet and I've gotten burnt out doing the same thing only really grinding my mechs for so many months ... after we get some depth to the game where people cant effectively just death mob over and over again you'll see me VERY excited to jump back into one of my 20 mechs

i went from playing hours every day to playing 5 matches a week, if that. no longer have any faith in the devs. its obvious they don't care to dialogue with the player base and obvious their promises/roadmap is mostly wishful thinking or BS. makes me think that whatever this game is in a year, it won't be something i want to play

if i could get a refund for my founder's pack i'd be happy to delete the game and move on to something else, but i feel compelled to play once in awhile because of all the money i foolishly sunk into it

I used to play this everyday. Sadly I no longer do. I am unsure it will succeed, but hope it does. I want more emphasis placed on balance: ECM (not OP, just too many pros and no cons). I don't want to feel like a liability for my team, if I decide to pilot a non-ECM light mech. I want the game to be balanced so I can play any mech and still feel that I have viable chance of contributing to my team's win. I want multiple strategies to be useful; not just brawling or indirect missile fire. I want to have to respect and fear for any and every weapon in the game.
