I still do a fair share of solo pugging, when no one is around or if I just don't have the time for the whole group making process.

100% P.U.G.

I drive a Semi Truck. Long haul. I'm out for weeks at a time. Only internet is through phone or truck stops. TS3 no worky. So, I go out and get stomped constantly. I think my KDR is something like .1 or so. Maybe 1/3 wins. I play medium and try and support the assaults. Or my Commando with BAP, TAG and ECM and, you know...scout. I die...a lot.

Dang its fun!

I probably solo PuG one third of my matches.

My breakdown is probably..

Solo PuG 30%
4 man premade 60%
8 v 8 10% (possibly higher now that I've been synchro dropping agaisnt my own corp mates to get fast drops)

Of the 4 man premades I would say that 70% are super casual with no real planning on comms maybe a very basic plan like go to X grid or support Y PuG player. When we do go all serious it's because we recognize a premade on the other team.So actually most of my "premade" time is slightly more organized than PuG time simply because the other 3 premade pilots are experienced mechwarriors not because we are trying super hard and calling focus targets.

For right now. I am PUGing all the time. When I get a computer that can handle the game better. I will start running with a squad.

Been there done it. Its a tuff life. Dropping a thanks for your work.
Not much you can do other than PUG since you can't commit to a time slot.

Oh and 50/50 for me.

Why even create a poll if you think you know the answer already?

... because there is a difference between thinking you know the answer and actually knowing the answer

I only PUG. I await CW to join a Merc Unit. PUGing is fine though, never any wait, we still win 50% of the time.

There isn't much point in joining a "clan" when you can't identify who is in what group. There isn't a community and no guild tags.

I am a founder but despite that I only play PUG.
I just cant be bothered to use out of game communication.
Also being a lone wolf i can come and go as I please.
This game would really need a ranking system so that equal players would meet similiar skilled opponents.
Also the game really need a game looby, to arrange games as well as to discuss the game.

Should have made the poll anyonymous.

Even those who roll with pre-mades most of the time might pick the 90-100% option in fear of being shunned by the group.

It really depends on how you define a pre-made. I have a close friend a play with as often as we get the chance, but I've never grouped more than him and me. Other than us 2 grouping it's been exclusively pug. I've played maybe 20-30% of my matches with him, the rest on my own.

Bump for a decent poll, and showing the "MWO is for elite groups" people just who plays this game and how.

Perhaps now some of the more "elite" amongst us my realize who the demographic of MWO really is. Oh right, who am I kidding.

The even more ironic part is, the location of this poll should actually weigh heavier in the direction of the die hards, given that many/most PUGs dont even come to the forum.

Since the 4-man premade was introduced, I might have played 10 group games, if that.

Used to play in teams alot, then they broke the game aka removed knockdowns and worsened the lagshield, everyone I know started to lose interest, now only jump on like twice a week and almost always solo drop... but I still say all the whiners about premades are idiots who just need to learn to play.

The demographic for any online video game is always the casual player. No niche is immune to it really :)

Yet there seems to be a certain overwhelming sense of entitlement, and worse, a disdain for said casual players amongst the more hardcore.
