Speed in the UK sucks. Especially when you live in a small village where it is 'not worth' upgrading the connection.


For some reason the forum will not allow me to post the picture, but my results were ping 10ms, 15.83Mbps download and 1.14Mbps upload.

Retested at 13, 20.8, 1.14. I suspect this test is not very scientific.

You know what's actually sad, though?
That's just within 10% of the speed threshold I'm paying for, so my ISP is actually upholding the legislation which, in my home country, compels ISPs to ensure that a minimum 10% of the advertised connection speed is supplied at all times to their costumers.

Of course, this just means that most of them don't feel compelled to provide anything beyond that minimum threshold.
