Suggestion: Let Us Keep Purchased Camo Colours = Profit

What i propose is you can buy colours and it stays on that variant. IF you buy 10 colours, you can play around with them forever. I'm not sure how the patterns work, but i'd like them to work the same. Ideally i'd like it to be for that mech and all its variants, but at least this would be a step in the right direction.

that´s the reason why i only bought 1 camo so far, only because it was the last bit of my founder´s MC and worth nothing else
i refuse from buying more just for the above simple fact... so, no purchase from me, no money for you...
bring more colour templates (such as the "woodland") and make the whole template purchasable and for permanent usage... i think i would collect quite a lot of those templates so i can choose from them for a nice colourscheme on my mechs...
but buying every single colour every single time? nope, not gonna happen...
same for the camosschemes... collectible yes, onetime use? nope... (PS2 has permanent and onetime used ones, the latter for cheap, the first are too expensive for my taste, but at least they have them)

yep, this in addition... luckily the PC gamer colours allow me to paint my mechs in DHB colours... one reason more to stay DHB xD (by far not the only one, to make that clear lol)

Ofc. you could sell the internals and armors and then you wouldn't have 'em, but anyways.

this; my team are using primarily black and red until the camo system is a bit more fleshed out
I would pay good money for patterns that are re-usable, I'm not that bothered about paying $0.50 to $1 for paints though, that can stay as is as far as I'm concerned

So far only thing i've spend money on is mech bays and some champagne. TAKE MY MONEY PLEASE. I want to support MWO, but you need to give me some options to do so that I don't feel ripped off.

What he said.
Only concern when rolling back ideas is how to compensate all those that paid for stuff and now feel ripped off that others get the same for much much less.

I'd prefer that but to a more general application like buying camo across entire classes of mechs or maybe even types but even now with the way the pricing is most of my camo bought will never change again since i don't own it the same way I do cockpit items.
Honestly if you still want to charge us for each instance of applied camo/paint(which kinda makes sense) then take a zero off that MC cost and I think most peope would be fine with 25 MC per color as opposed to 250 (or whatever else it is for camo too). I think people are latching onto the idea of owning paint buckets because they're not thinking how the pricing could be changed to better reflect something the value of something that is purely cosmetic imho.

I kind of get it though, they dont want everyone having it on every mech, as its suppose to be a premium (feel/not cost), and makes you stand out. IF everyone has it, you dont feel as "special".
As for PJ's comment that would be up to the Devs on how to handle it. IF they can track all your purchases/changes, then they could give you those colours. Regardless its a improvement on what we have now.

I think part of the reason we wont see any MC changes to stuff like this is that right now there isn't a whole lot of "content" in mwo and by that i mean their still adding new mechs, maps, and camo every month so possibly adjusting the price points or mechanisms that handle that content right now might create an imbalance in their perceived value/uniqueness.
This kinda makes sense when you consider what you mentioned earlier about everyone having those camo/colors and it no longer being special/as valued. I think this may level out as more content is put forth but we can only wait and see.

Basically if you purchase a Red colour on your atlas DDC. That DDC will always have that colour and you can swap it in and out. IF you choose to go to a different colour, and then back, you dont have to REBUY it. Make it permanent like the cockpit items.

I'd happily pay mc's if you could buy a camo and that camo was then available to all variants. Paints I think they should be bought as packs of different colours and these would be available to all mechs once bought.
They would just need to keep bringing out new camo's to keep people coming back to buy more.
It would hopefully encourage more people to put money into the game. I see very few using a camo compared to all the stock painted mechs.
