Because that's how we help them become better players? And by them, I mean me  I usually hang around to study loadouts and tactics, especially if I'm in the cockpit of what appears to be a skilled pilot. If I'm in a newbie's cockpit, I just try to give advice on weapon ranges. IE the fire lrms/ppcs at point blank range crowd or the file med lasers from across the map crowd.

it really helps to let people know weapon ranges. there are so many things noobs dont know because mwo has no official info. just like what you said, telling them a range will help.

my first few games i didnt know how to "cap" i thought i could just destroy the butter churner rig. some guy told me in chat "get in the red box" i did and we won. that guy won himself some more cbill and exp at the time.

Uhh, because I play the game for fun. Driving giant robots around killing stuff is fun. Spectating mouth-breathers and being ignored when I tell them what to do is not. Unless PGI plans to start paying me to be a forced spectator, the proposed change would drive me right out of the game, and really not many changes would do that considering my relationship with the Battletech IP.

fair enough there are a bunch of people like you who could never be bothered to help because to you its "not fun" that is fine.
noone is forcing you so do anything here. to help others is not a act of force but a selfless one.
