I honestly think it is a great idea, but keeping track of everything properly, even for what little the teams have to monitor themselves, seems rather difficult and I'm having trouble convincing people that it will all be worth the effort.

It's a great idea, even if we dont get to participate, we wish this event the best of luck.

That's one of the rubs. Keeping track of everything falls on me so we'll see how well it works. i would love something that plugged right into mwo and sent results up. Though that's wishful thinking. Getting the results in a timely manner will be the biggest thing for this. Next would be to make sure people scheduled their fights. In the end it's the sense of immediacy that will drive people to do stuff. I'm sure there will one or two units mad at me because I wouldn't extend a turn several days so they could have their guys on. In the end that's why its 11 days. 2 for declaration, 7 for fighting, 2 for results. I should be able to get everything done in those windows.

And this would be why it would be good to have a pool of registered unaffiliated solos willing to act as fillers for any team to use if they're short.

From the Organisers' perspective, I think all that would be needed for this would be a compiled list of names which the various units could go through to pick who they would like if they're short on players, click on the profile link and send a pm or just add to friends and if they're on, send a group invite.

Just a thought

So does MGA and we're organizing alliances between units to act as one to fill in as needed.

It's the cost and responsibility of having a unit. Faction warfare in past mechwarriors has always been about representation unfortunately that does not ease well with randoms. How to do that properly is the million dollar question PGI has to answer with its community warfare. Having to be part of a group is a barrier of entry to anything. Now having that possibly in the next version of our campaign? I am open for discussion. Though I do not want this to be like who gets picked to play neighborhood kickball.

Good luck to all Marik Units and Mercs in the Civil War.

Lets hope this turns into some great games and some good data for future seasons of Civil War.

Word of Blake implemented an ECM planet-wide nullification system for the planet Gibson. The same system is to be deployed today on Atreus.

I like this idea, I also didnt read all of the posts. Did you say what the rewards for the merc corps were? Mercenaries being well, mercenary, would want to know the pay before commiting to fight for or against you.

Well Mao, as the dozen or so Merc Corp already waiting in line for Marik contracts know, we pay well. Additionally we give fair and honest evaluations for the Mercenary review and bonding commission that is more valuable than c-bills because a merc corp w/out a reputation for winning battles is a merc corp that no one hires.

We had our first match earlier this week with a possible match coming up later tonight. Went 3-1 and successfully defended our planet. WOOHOO!! Made me proud to be a DR!

On behalf of the Desert Rats, THANK YOU for putting this together. We've been having a lot of fun participating in the Civil War!
