default setting is so odd even when i got use to it. here is my set up, please share yours.

my mouse has 5 buttons but i only utilize 3 (other two buttons in odd positions).
-left click :1
-right click: 2
-wheel click: 3

keyboard: i will only mention the ones iv changed.
-E: zoom
-left shift: change target
-left crtl: jump
-R: alpha strike
-space bar: 4

lets be honest, unless most of the mechs you pilot can jump, space bar is useless in the default setting. reason why i dont use number keys is because those keys require me to use my 3 primary movement fingers. (fore.,middle, ring)

you dont have a mouse wheel with a button?? are you still using mouse ball?? lol

iv found thumb buttons.... uncomfortable. thumb buttons throw my aiming off, so if you looking to upgrade a mouse i suggest something with 3 buttons is enough. ;)

Yup. I got a Naga in my WoW days, and it worked great there, but I tried using it for firing groups in MWO, and it threw my aim off by a large amount. I always shot wide to the right ;)

Had such bad luck with mouses lately though... After 2 years the mouse wheel click started double clicking, so I bought a Logitech... broke within a month. Returned it, and while I'm waiting for them to confirm it's bust and give me my refund, I bought a Steelseries... mouse wheel was broken out of the box. I wish I had bought a simple Razer. Now I'm waiting for 2 refunds, and I'm using a Naga without a middle click. Sigh.

i cant help but laugh at your miss fortune. sry to hear. razer products in my experience also break down fairly fast. try looking into corsair. they have very durable build, and good quality materials. their basic line mouse is built like a tank! you can smash those buttons and they will always pop back up ready to be pressed again and its easy to clean because of the plastic they use.
http://www.corsair.c...tary-green.html my brother is using it and he says if only he bought this mouse first, he would of never changed mouses so often.

Haha yeah, nothing but bad luck ;) I actually checked some Corsair stuff, I just have to wait for my refunds for the other two mouses before I can buy yet another!

I'm using the same setup I've allways used in MW games:

Left Mause: Fire Group 1
Right Mouse: Fire Group 2
Middle Mouse: Zoom

Numpad for everything else.

Keyboards with movable numpad ftw ;).

I've got a keyboard with a gaming pad on the left hand side, so all my key bindings would be all over the place for anyone else to use

though I have 5 buttons and have the main 4 assigned to 4 weapon groups, though in practice all my mechs run 3 groups at most

As always in FPV games, I'm playing ESDF.

Q = General chat
W = Team chat
R = Overlay
T = Next target
G = Weapon group 5
Space = Weapon group 6
Zoom = V
Special Zoom = Y
On the mouse I have weapon groups 1 - 4
