According to the newest "Ask the Devs" it looks like they are planning a stat (kills, not cbills) wipe when "achievements" are rolled out. I think this is great.
If we are gonna have stats, the teams that sync drop pug stomp shouldn't be allowed to benefit when it comes to achievements for being tools.

Well although I have battled for my 2.4 K/D score (833 Kills and 344 Deaths), I realize how useless this actually is. I would like it if they introduced an assist score as well because some find this to be the important stat (myself included).

While this kind of makes sense, I am confused as to why you're so concerned about other people's achievements in a video game. That strikes me as absurd.

You don't get annoyed by the douche bags that post a screen shot of their ridiculously inflated pug stomp stats in their signature?

How many actually do that? I have only counted one person who linked this stat page in a sig.

Nope, because it's a stat in a videogame. If that's all they have to hold onto in life, I feel really bad for them.

Stats in this game are stupid useless so far. Without other more in depth stats, damage done, damage taken, FF caused, assists, spotting, etc a kill to win/loss ratio combined with the fact that 90% of the player base is full of baddies and unless you play 4-8 man V 4-8 mans non stop and never pug then your stats mean squat.

It needs it. Scorpion-tail LRMs, Gausscats, Streakcats, ECM, etc. A wipe after balancing is mostly finalized is a fantastic plan.

They can reset stats weekly as long as they don't take away my mechs

I've seen a few here and there. Considering they are planning on giving out free skins and such for achievements. I don't want the pug stomping tool crowd to be able to get a headstart on that. Is it petty? Yea, I suppose, however I don't like the type of person who would sync drop pug stomp, so it works out.

They feel good about themselves... why do you care? They either are, or are not as good as their stat counter... who cares...?

I know when I play well, and when I don't and the stats show me the quantitative results of that play. I know I am a lot better at this game now than when I started. Stats are self feedback (for me). I'd actually like more stats - damage taken, hit ratio, hit locations, damage and hit % per weapon used (per mech too), damage per location, components destroyed etc... this again would help me track my progress as a player.

out of interest what is the "pug stomping tool crowd"?

do you mean people who actually team up with others to win battles? If so that really smacks of sour grapes

I don't mind a reset either.

We do need a far more in depth stat tracker though. K/D is pretty useless unless there is more information to go along with it. Talking team kills, assists, overall damage done, damage taken, etc.

I would also like the breakdown along which mech variants where used too.

Wont they need a reset prior to elo as to get a good baseline and fresh starting point?

I'll be sad to see my 8.67 go. Guess I'll just sharpen the sword and look at this more of an opportunity to rewrite my history.

I am going to laugh at the kdr kiddies who've been using alt f4 to protect their precious stats.

It would make more sense to keep track of stats on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly basis, and then having 'lifetime' stats as well.

I'm not sure why it makes sense to erase stats when it should be more than feasible to simply start tracking stats for achievements when said achievements are introduced, or again the same thing when phase 3 is introduced.
