Thats because the play more than the forum.

So you agree most won't care about the stats being reset.

So why continue to raise a fuss?

LOL, you think we will ever see MWO at Bestbuy? Newegg... thats even more funny.

Crap, best buy barely sells pc games anymore.

Nada on steam either bud. Btw, when a product goes sellable, you see it at practically every major retail store (online or otherwise). And as I mentioned before, searches were done to several stores, not just the ones mentioned.

As for bestbuy barely selling PC games anymore? Do a general search on "PC games" .. you'll get over 400 titles (from the most terrible to the top sellers, but still over 400 DIFFERENT titles). Not bad for "barely". You point is moot. The game is not sold ANYWHERE and stil not in full version (i.e. still open beta).

But prove me wrong. Please find a store, ANY store, online or what not that is currently selling MWO, and I mean CURRENT. None of this "will be shipped to you upon the game's release" nonsense. I mean you can pick it up at said store buy walking in and buying it, or they ship it out to you within 3-5 business days, or you purchase a digital copy to D/L on your pc ... oh yeah, its retail price for it as well.

I guarantee you most of the core players (which you claim would have issue with it) already know. The core players are often the most likely to check the forums. It is the non core players that are less likely to know about it. Most of the core are probably happy with it as they realize the stats mean nothing and the reset will give a clearer picture of the skill of the player due to additional stats.

There are plenty of people who don't know that stats are even recorded and viewable since it isn't exactly easy to find.

Nobody is going sell a f2p game, its a great way to cut out the middleman.

Except: http://mwomercs.com/game/download

I'm saying core players. The core players are the most likely to visit the forums and read things here as they are more invested in the game. Most of the general playerbase will have no clue.

I've seen numerous f2p games for sale at retail stores. It's simply a package of items you could purchase normally in the game.

For the achievments that are linked to the stats which take time to achieve, time many have allready spent.

Thats what we are talking about if you didnt notice.

Reseting the stats after mechs are mastered only skews the true stats.

One guy has all master mechs, one guy is brand new to the game, why should there stats start from different progress points?

And if none of the achievements are linked to the miserable stats we already have? What if there is no achievement for wins/losses or even matches played? What then smart guy? They could easily make the achievements based on weight class, or mech specific or a whole host of things our stats don't currently record..

It will allways come down to how much time you have played and in some of the cases you mention $ spent. Simple.

Hahahahaha. They don't have to make anything we currently have count even if it isn't wiped. They can add new stats any time they want and maybe only THOSE brand new stats will count for any sort of achievement. For example....

Great, so you have 1000 (or however many) wins recorded right now! Doesn't matter, we don't have an achievement for 1000 wins. What we do have is an achievement for 1000 wins piloting a Hunchback. Wow, you made 3000 drops! We don't care, no achievement for that. What we do have is an achievement for 3000 drops in a light mech. K-d ratio of 5-1 over 500 matches! Awesome, but no achievement for it. What we do have is an achievement for a 5-1 KdR vs ECM mechs.

It very easily could be like that. You must have hated closed beta what with the frequent wipes of not just stats, but everything.

Many pilots became tired of the wipes and stoped playing all together, it was problematic and one of the reasons the devs stoped doing it.

All the scenarios you describe require time to achieve. Time people tire of repeating.

Im not trying to get you to care, only to voice how a core player feels about resets.

But you aren't doing that. All you are doing is voicing how you feel about it. There have been core players in this thread that flat out say they don't care and others that are glad it is happening.

Goodbye KDR - Hoorah

Hello Achievements - Boooo

I don't like Achievements because I used to play WoW and they end up being used by elitist a-holes to discriminate within the community. **

Ofc if PGI put them in for solely landmarks and fun then I'm fine with them.

Question is do I trust PGI to do this right...

** I'll qualify that:
"No you can't pilot an Atlas in our Merc company unless you've got the '1000 Kills in an Atlas' achievement, the '6-Kills in one game' achievement and the 'Living in a basement with no job and nothing else to do with your time but play MWO' achievement."
