Stop charging us to remove an upgrade. A small fee to install/uninstall is fine, but charging us a huge fee every time is wrong. When I pull out that Artemis module, I'm going to store it in the garage, not smash it with a hammer. Instead I am being bled dry and unable to experiment with different mech designs, and that sucks. Now get to coding, chop-chop.

i think some of these upgrades should be attached to specific equipment

artemis should be linked to srm and lrm launchers
double heatsinks should be linked to engines

other stuff like endosteel and ferro fibrus require major reconstruction so for realism sake they should stay the same.

I have a heart for the hard working classes who provide my mech with excellent repairs and tech support :wub:

Except that in order to integrate these upgraded and downgrade our mechanic need to overhaul structure and major electronic components.

I also don't think 10-15 matches to perform a big change like one of these is really too far out of whack in terms of balance.

If you want to experiment, the best thing do do is not do it ingame, but on smurfy net. You have a full mechbay including all capabilities ingame, but without any costs;

http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab

(also a few extras which are not to be frowned on such as maps with coordinates and cap points or weapon/mech stats for example)

The OP is probably referring to loadout performance in game, not on paper.
I'm pretty sure that everyone already knows about smurfy tho.

Yeah, the really important changes are only explored with trials and errors. (And by doing that with 18 different mechs, I got really low in KD ratio and C-bill account :'( )
Heat efficiency especially doesn't mean anything on paper, it so depends on gameplay elements.
A lot of weapons are also a lot more than their stats. AC/2 dps is awfully misleading for example.
And don't forget the whole ARTEMIS thing... An upgrade that you must judge by your game style.
