Well it seems all the raven players have traded in their light mechs for assault mechs. I have to admit it's better this way. At least you can hit an assault mech, although I do feel a bit outnumbered when playing my medium mechs.

Maybe tonnage limits will balance out the teams a little?

All it did was separate the good Raven pilots from the wannabe Raven pilots.

My ping has never gone above 50, I have never been that difficult to hit, the netcode fixes haven't affected me very much, as proved by last nights matches.

Glad to see them go. I miss getting compliments on good piloting in a light mech. Not saying that it happened very often, but for a while there all I would get was insults.

I haven't seen more assaults. In fact I've started to see a way more diverse selection of 'Mechs as now people don't have to rely on streaks to kill Light 'Mechs.

Yesterday was the best day of MechWarrior I've had in months. And I'm a Light pilot (I can use my RVN 2X again :))

Ive noticed a few mord DDC's (ive been droppin in my non ecm atlas for a while now) but still, a few of the games i feel like a dinosaur being corralled (spelling?) by yapping little dogs IE :- 4 light mechs 2 with ecm dancing around me.

This. And more in general, good pilots of lights still rock, average to blatant rubberbander morions have got what they deserved

I never fear assaults, when i piloted medium mechs. They are p*ss easy to outmaneuver (with or without patch). And mediums pack enough of a punch to make em go home crying to mommy.

I noticed an abundance of assault mechs too. Even played two or three where the other team had 5 (yes 5) assaults with at least 2 being ECM atlases.

I love it. Makes piloting my Commando more fun. Last night I played several matches where I was the only light 'mech on my team. Means that I can act in the proper light 'mech role.

QFT, i was about dying laughing the 7th-odd time i imploded a 3L from 500m in my ECM spider (2ML, 1 ER LL)

No lagshield = no chance for them to reach streak range. How it bloody well should be unless you're facing one of the (Few) truly scary light pilots out there.

That last part may be true, but the streak light pilots you're killing must not be very smart if they're letting you shoot them from 500 meters. I don't consider myself a "scary" light pilot, but I know the necessity of cover.

First of all, it has more to do with the ping of the person shooting at you. Second of all, I got lagshield with 30 ping. Third of all, yes it did affect you, if you were piloting anything faster than ~120kph.

I would argue there were more assault mechs because people wanted to see if they could counter the light mechs. I'm sure it will balance out again in a few days, though you're probably correct in that the cheese-shielders will probably stop playing Ravens.
