I do. And I see a lot of people shutting down.

Alternatively, lots of people not understanding the new override mechanics?

Then again, I haven't got in game... but I'll watch my temperatures with large pulses and see if I note anything.

I've noticed in situations where I'd normally skirt at 90-95% heat (which I did a ton of in my Dragon) I'll now overheat. It's noticeably hotter, but not a huge amount so.

I dont feel so but i havent played all maps yet.

The new Override allows you to run hotter so if you finally shut down it should take longer to get back.

It might be that people are so exited about the net code fixes that they are firing more often.

Sounds good if it's true. I was always going for diverse builds, not stuffed to the cockpit with weapons, not boating and a good heat efficiency. And I often saw people who did not shutting down. More shutting down? Great. <_<

I've noticed that I seem to be getting the "heat warning" message more than I used to, but I thought I must be imagining it or staying on the trigger longer than usual. Did PGI make any changes in this area?

I know that a few days ago I retooled most of my builds to get more heat sinks in there. In most cases, I had to drop Endo, which meant I also had to drop some of the more powerful weapons. Kinda makes it less fun to be honest.

LASER Weapons run Plenty hot in this game ,compared to previous Titles they do not need to be hotter

Even Ballistic Weapons run Hotter in this Title

I think people are running hotter because people are shooting more. When you know you will hit you wont hold your fire for a sure hit like before. Now you can burn your lasers and or ACs and have a good faith you are going to land that hit on the running mech.

In my case I dont think thats true though,I typically Fire Alphas with Med Pulse at whatever enemy Mech is in my sights heat permitting whether it a Light or an assault..I hit that threshold sooner now,it seems anyways.I am not concentrating soley on lights

I noticed this before yesterday's patch though. Actually, I started noticing it after the spider patch. I can't say for sure though. It's subtle, but I do feel like I'm overheating more. It has actually killed my Awesomes, which I used to enjoy. Those were the mechs I had to retool the most.

didn´t notice more heat, didn´t overheat a single time yet... guess i have to force it to test the new system <_<
all my mechs are over 1.3 heat efficiency, and i don´t alpha like crazy... might be an explanation,,,

I also noticed the faster overheating. In addition to that I have problems in getting used to the new overheat mechanics. For example, in the match I played just now I overheated in my Jenner, which used to happen quite rare till yesterday. But the point was, that I was not able to reactivate the 'Mech for at least five seconds. I pressed "P" as well as "O", but nothing happened. I waited a second, than pressed "P" again, waited another second, hit "O", but the 'Mech was not reacting at all. I just couldn't override the shutdown. Then, all of a sudden, the 'Mech reactivated physically, allowing me to run around, but my cockpit still showed the red overheated view. There was no HUD at all, so I was running blind. I decided to power down again (which my 'Mech also executed just after another couple of seconds), and then, finally, after the reactivation, I was back to normal. (This issue is not because of bad inet connection too, everything else was fine)

After this, I feel Piranha have really screwed up with something...

I'm running really damn hot. Maybe I'm just too excited. In my 4 LL cataphract I with 20 dhs I just seem to be running really hot. Now I will be the first to say it is really damn easy alpha your way into trouble but when I was doing the same last week in a catapult I didn't have the same trouble.

So nothing solid but yeah things do seem a bit hot.
