It's really hard to sympathize with pugs who come on the forums and cry about losing 99% of games in landslides.

You don't have to be in a 4man to:
-Stay together as a group,
-Watch for the cap warning. (or watch the bases in Conquest)
-Read text chat.
-Form a sort of strategy through text chat.
-Stay out of the open areas.
-Single out important targets to focus on. (D-DC/Atlas/Stalker/Awesome and on down..)
-Match speed with your slowest mechs (to stay together)
-Provide ECM cover to your allies.
-Stay under the ECM of allies.
-Keep the cone of fire in your favor.

You don't need to be in a fourman group to do any of that.. but people just don't read chat, they don't try to team up or anything.. they just come to the forums and complain about losing all the time.

No sympathy, whatsoever.

That is all.

Oboy a complaint thread. We don't get nearly enough of these ones.

To remove or lower the amount of ******* on your team, you have to select your team mates. Therefore I disagree.

Not a complaint, the response to the complaints.

I stepped out of fourmans to run a few pugs and reminded myself why I don't pug- and why pugs lose so often.

Should have just said that you couldn't cut it in PUGlife and ran back into the warm, winning embrace of the premades. Could have spared us your worthless post, because clearly everything you say here is new info and has NEVER been brought up before.

I mean why didn't YOU use all these excellent points to blaze yourself an awesome career in PUGzone? I mean it's obviously damn easy and works flawlessly.

Sometimes they just need a bit of guidance. I don't like bad puggers, however I simply hate a veteran that is unwilling to help new players out.

If many people don't fail to type hi or hello in chat, the match would feel much better :)

Obviously, greeting is a lost tech.

So stop bumping it by posting in it.

Oh great, now I did it!

Although I didn't state it was worthless

So actually your given advice did not work at all?

Random solo pugging is slowly making me insane.

Eh, I'm in a terrible mood and couldn't stop myself. The blatant stupidity in the OP and the fact that I'm bumping it again has only made my mood worse.

Of course, if you happen to be a PUGer who does all those things, you still lack the focused fire and strat coordination of voice comms.

Vs 4 (or up to 8, both in the past and to a lesser extent currently) players on voice comms, even if you play as well as they do, you are at a significant disadvantage.

For instance, I go to check tunnel, I see 4 mechs coming. I fire my weapons, put my mech in reverse, hit Y (because Y stands for Team and T stands for everybodY, logically), and type '4 mechs coming tunnel<ENTER>'.

While I am doing that, and possibly correcting my error if I hit T instead of Y, I am neither steering nor shooting.

Then, I fire again, adjust my backup-angle, hit Y, type '2 Awesome Hunch Raven<ENTER>'. Generally just before I hit Enter, I am dead anyway. At that point, the chat buggers up whatever I was typing and I have to re-type it again.

And anybody who isn't a fast reader or doesn't keep one eye on the chat, misses the info anyway.

Not gonna get into the whole "It's a team game, join pre-made or die!" debate, EVERY on-line MMO is to some extent a team game.

But please don't pretend that PUGing isn't a disadvantage against pre-mades, nor set up straw-man arguments by exaggerating the PUG position into 'losing 99% of matches in landslides' - a claim I have seen made by no one except those trying to ridicule the PUG concerns.

The game is filled with bads. They'll still be bads after that tutorial. And if you don't select your team mates, chances are you'll have bads on your team.

It's anoying for sure. To begin a PUG match I usually make a suggestion or ask about where the first waypoint will be about 70% of the time (sure, made up number) I get no response whatsoever and I usually apologise for breaking radio silence, 15% of the time 2-3 will head that direction, the rest will go the other way which usually ends in a firey death, and 15% of the time I get responses and suggestions and everyone works together.
I don't complain about PUGs myself because usually the other team is wandering around aimlessly as well, but a little simple teamwork would go a long way.

Holy Crap this guy is AWSOME!!! That one line says you can't use the current trial mechs and you are limited to 5 of the 40+ mechs in the game if you solo queue!!! OBVIOUSLY don't play what you like to play, play ECM because it is broken!!! The problem lies with solo players!!! Not the game!!!

How did we not all see this????????

Hi there, and yes that all we need to make a difference :) . Stay together, cover your teammate.
