Same here.

Well we're different then maybe because you as a founder not having to worry about how to get your new toys you desire. Which isn't a bad thing. Just saying we're starting at different points here. To me income matters a lot because for me at least 50% of the fun is constantly changing and fiddling around on the setups of my mechs aswell as getting new chassis to play with and that get's cost intensive fast at the rate I do that stuff. I mean I have new ideas for a new loadout every second day or so.
Ilwrath, on 28 January 2013 - 03:27 AM, said:
Well I learn a lot from watching them, like what priorities they take. What setups they run. What's the current flavour of the months strategy for a given map amongst the more organized teams. From that I can develop ways to counteract that without necessarily having to rely on all of my team supporting me in my plans.
But if you already know all that stuff and thus can't learn anything from being beaten at the game I sure understand that it bothers you. But hey well: Sucks for you but is none of my concern.

Sad that we cannot fix this like you can fix the bad maps (simply rename their folder) because there is no folder for the premade scum. You can only exit the game.
Yeah.... right oO.
Edit: also for refference about what kind of stuff get's me to lose my cool see my soon to change signature.

This is why one should never use the word never.
Also, why only use it when it's added? I know it's a third party tool at the moment but just curious as to the reasoning.

Despite having 45 people in our clan spread over NA/EU and OC we do end up pugging sometimes, and it is horrendous even on the Comstar servers.
Comstar servers do help to some extent, but you still end up at best with a 4 man pug that rushes in and dies and leaves you with 4 v 8.
At worst, you end up running in a group with pugs who really don't know what they are doing and the overiding tactic is still to rush and die individually.
That said as the community matures, even some of the pugs are hopefully learning to play as a team. cough.

PUG = Pick up group, so anyone who has played in a pick up group is a pug player.
Presuming thats the case am responding to this article as well.
You can find plenty of free TS servers used to play MWO, Comstar is just one of them.

Can't talk for him, but as I am kinda in the same boat as he is I can try to explain my reasoning: Part of the challenge in Pugging for me is having a new team each time I play. I'd lose that when I'd hop on to a Teamspeak Server to find a team there. That's why I'd prefer ingame voice chat that works on any random team, so I can shout out my findings when scouting easier to my team. But I feel as long as such a big majority of the vocal crowd is fine with 3rd partty TS servers things like a properly working ingame voice chat and a lobby in the frontend will maintain the same low priority they have had for the past half year and thus we won't get it for maybe another year. I for one don't want to add to that crowd and kinda stay on the "opposite" side so that matter don't falls out of focus completely.

I have to admit that I have chosen not even try the TS servers, so any assumptions I make come from experience in other games and there it was about seeing the same bunch of admittedly cool guys everyday anytime. But that stuff get's boring.
Plus I have a personal issue with having to listen to too much unrelated (to the game we're supposed to be playing) stuff and uncoordinated babbling between matches on TSs. It boosts my stress levels and makes aggressive and get's me tired extremely fast. Hence I've grown to more and more avoid TS's (Clan and public alike) and use built in voice and text chats where available.

So your experience with in game voip is much better in regards to "chatter"? You've experienced less "uncoordinated babbling" on in game comms? I find that hard to believe if true.

Sadly it get's abused a lot. But to my experience it's still more common (though you memorize the annoying times stronger) that the ingame voicechat is used how it should be and then it improves teamwork a lot compared to using gimped text chat or no communication at all. Experience coming from CS and stuff like Mass Effect 3 multiplayer mainly. Also had a great many good times in BF 2 back in the day where I would be in a squad and have a commander that used voice chat decently.
That said: Giving idiots like ********** the opportuinity to also tell me via voice how useless pugs are while he's the first to die doing the least damage in my view shouldn't be an argument against proper ingame voice chat. The ones that use it as it should be used will be very grateful for it and I think for the makority it will improve the experience.
Besides I'd guess a great many 4 mans on the TS servers would be more than happy if they could also talk to the PUGs that fill their ranks by the push of a button.

Oh, not trying to use it as an argument against in game voip, I have no problems with it being implemented(the more features the better). Just attempting to fully understand. Experiences do differ. Personally, I just turn it off.
