Yup. Good rule of thumb is to pay attention to the stock weapons on the mech before you buy it. The missiles denote the tube size in those slots.
This is correct and a helpful thing to remember. The stock loadouts always reflect the missile hole numbers of the variant. For example, the 4J comes stock with 2 LRM 10s, thus it has 20 holes. I run it with dual LRM 15s, but it has to 2 volley every barrage as a result. Other Mechs gets other hole counts, 2 of which are actually 1 hole hardpoints since they are designed for the NARC on the stock loadouts. This means a Streak is 2 volley, firing them one at a time. Others are actually made for 2 volleys by default, like the Atlas LRM 20s, which fire out of 10 holes. D Atlas has LRM 20 + SRM 6 by default. The LRM will 2 volley out of the 10 hole group while the SRM will 1 volley out of the 6 hole group. The 4SP has 2x 6 hole groups, being made for dual SRM 6s. These small racks is why I switched to the 4J for LRMs since the 4J runs with 20 holes, vs the 4SP's 12 holes. I always chuckle when I see 4SPs with large LRMs or a 4J with SRMs instead of the 4SP. 4J=LRM Carrier. 4SP=SRM/Streak Brawler. When you reverse them, you shoot yourself in the foot. People don't know what they're doing in this game, lol.
