Dropship mode... there's your respawn. It's been discussed a number of times. Pick 4 mechs (or however many) and click launch. Epic battle (or epic whoopin') ensues.

theres a dropship in orbit. it drops your next mech into combat. you ejected from your last one, your pod flies to where the new mech drops. No handwavium required. Especially in a game where you cant get killed when your cockpit (and escape pot) get destroyed
There it is. In a world where science has gotten to the point where we have battlemechs I can stretch my imagination to believe the ecsape pods can have the fuel to get to the next mech's landing location. Then you have the exact same pilot in the exact same mech.
Otherwise youre just looking for a reason to hate it and needling the situation until it enforces what you want
Hell Id like to see a bit where if you get cockpit shot you cant get your next mech but I dont see them doing that lol

Though I do think having a ticket system or unlimmited respawns would kinda kill the appeal of this game. Honestly if they added in a BF3/CoD style respawn system it would kill this game, and it would fail horribly. Though the Limited set of respawns is fine, since its Per player and not per team. Still gives reason to death.
Oh,and buddah, theres nothing stopping you from having 4 of the same mech in your bays... So you can totally have a All 1 mech type group.

I actually read the thread, I am opposed to respawns, and it's interesting to me (but only a very little) that you are apparently defend the person I responded to...who dismissively tells someone to be quiet because the adults are speaking.
Hmm, that was me. I told someone to be quiet because the adults are speaking. Because his contribution to the thread was the following.
"There is a hundred fps games with respawn. If thats what you're looking for go play those games."
So, once again. Read thread, be wise, profit.

Even though I fully expet without a rule as to this thats enforced in the game, that people will get 4 of the same mech to run in the dropship battles but thats me. Like 4 Raven 3ls etc
Thats a good point. I only have 2 Mechs My (F)Atlas and my D-DC.

Does someone that young, that ignorant, or both REALLY deserve 10 pages devoted to a relatively pointless comment that has essentially been addressed by PGI with dropship mode?

so hows that different? you get a dropship mode you can choose to use or not choose to use. Thats pretty much what people that want it are asking for. I imagine the possibility exists that someone could have used the argument they should enforce it on everyone but I havent seen this argument

A ticket system penalizes bad play almost as much as the current system while being less harsh towards the luckless.

Dropship Mutator isn't in the game yet, but I'll paraphrase an old post I made in an older thread about respawns:
"Dropship Mutator is as close to a respawn mechanic as I want MWO to get".
I'd like for regular matches to continue to be respawn-free. You do something stupid and die, you have to steam in it a bit until your next match. I like that.
I like that doing something right and removing a 'mech from the opposition has match-permanent effects.
I do believe I wouldn't like it if we could just respawn and continue fighting - except possibly in the aforementioned Dropship Mutator. It depends on how they implement it.
Who knows, it might be fun.

Are you kidding me? There is enough lemming behavior already even with a death penalty.
Respawns will remove the incentive to care about being hit. I think the Devs did an excellent job with it. If they wanted to be hardcore they would have made it like Eve, where you risk permanently losing your mech. This is a nice balance.

Not to say if they have maps at least 2 times larger then current and up the game timer they could put in TDMs however that would long off.

Hyperbole much?
The most highly anticipated FPSes in the history of gaming have all had respawns. Even Counter Strike has a form of respawns in that you play the best of 3 matches. You don't even have that in MWO because once the match is over there is no rematch because you are thrown back into a random team.
BF3 is no CoD. BF3 is far closer to MWO than CoD is to MWO, especially in the larger maps (Metro doesn't count).

What planning? The game drops you into a random match. There is NO planning in that kind of scenario. You just go left or right, group up or not and focus fire. That isn't planning, that can barely be called tactics. I see more tactical thought in BF3, a game that has respawns.
