The only good thing that can be said about the Goons is that they are well organized. Other than that, they are a bunch of obnoxious greifers who get their kicks using exploits and cheats to ruin other people's fun. Online gaming would be better off if they were all banned from the internet.....

Also Goons are the lovely folks who "Squaaaaaaaaaaaaaak" at the beginning of matches. They don't cheat, but they are certainly not known for playing fair. They pride themselves in learning and exploiting weaknesses in both game structures and social structures to win. Thus far, they have had a very nul impact on MWO.

That is because MWO is dominated by 15 year vets who would wipe the floor with any Goon attempt. The units here are older then many of the members of the Goon groups.

It started back in 2003 (a long time ago in Internet terms), on Somethingawful.com. A poster to the comedy website named "moot" started an anime-based photo-sharing site called 4chan.org. Much to their chagrin, most of what people posted were cute pictures of their pets, particularly cats.

It's pretty safe to say that CW will not be a massive, persistent world. It wouldn't make much sense in the BT lore part of things. Battles are fought by small numbers of mechs, not hundreds or thousands. CW will probably consist of a map of contested areas and we can choose an area where we will then be transported to a 12v12 match (or however Clan balancing goes down). There will probably be an economy centered around it so that a house who wants control over an area can hire you (mercs) to go take it for them.

Personally, I don't even like Planetside 2. It's too much travel just for a few minutes of fighting. That and the people that I've had experience with in that game are the saddest, loneliest basement-dwellers I've ever seen.

Hey I played that Gundam MMO a few years back, the japanese only one. Does that count? We had to fake a Japanese address and use a VPN to play but hey! We killed the voice actor of that Amuro guy and got all goons banned from the game. He was in the original gundam. Was Hilarious.
