I got a new mouse today (wireless trackball)and still learning it. But I accidently hit a team mate with an alpha to the right arm.
Sorry man, if I' been a little quicker I'd have pulled the shot.

The other day I was in a pretty intense, close brawl with an enemy Mech. Once it went down, I turned and saw a shut down Atlas. I started firing at it, thinking it was an enemy. Even after it powered back on, I was too close to it to really see the friendly arrow above it. I wailed on this guy literally for 10-15 seconds after he powered on before I realized. I felt like such a complete dumb (you know what). There was just this moment where I sat there, stared up at the blue triangle, and was like "Oh."

The guy never even said anything or fired back. He just kept on going, probably thinking about how much of a dumb (you know what) I was. I didn't actually kill him and we both went on to finish up the enemy team together, but I still apologize to you, Mr. Atlas!

I just reported this on the assumption that you are not joking. We all play this game for fun. If your idea of fun is killing team-mates you should play something else.

The other day, I saw an Atlas walking away from me, standing right inside my red targeting bracket that said Atlas AS7-RS........ and unloaded my alpha onto it.

Then I got closer and realized the targeting bracket was for a target behind him in the distance.
@#$%

Got the same problerm/mistake yesterday.
A mech in front of me and a red triangle ... but the enemy was behind the first mech.

Sorry!

Yesterday i was in a huge brawl with **** exploding left and right and in the heat of the moment i saw a shutdown Stalker on a ridge facing our team, so i blatted him in the face with twin gauss...then he powered up and went blue <_<

If i shoot you at the start of the match it was an accident and i'm really sorry (Hasn't happened yet).
If i'm zoomed in sniping at a distant target and you walk in front of my shot it was an accident and noone's fault.
If you're under ECM and i cant tell who is who i only fire if i'm really, really sure the target is enemy. If it wasn't...sorry
If you can see i'm shooting a target and you run in to hug it and get the kill...i won't stop firing <_<
If i shoot you and you're called Lishta it's because you're my wife and i can't do that in RL :P

There was a thread a while ago where we decided if you get an actual teamkill you should write a poem about what happened, the person involved, etc. I haven't had any TKs in a while but I thought it was a good idea and would go something like

One last game in the dead of the night,
The frozen city was heavy in snow.
With SRMs and a Commando in sight,
I didn't see Stalker moving so slow.

I lead for lag-shield,
and with careful aim
I let rip with a volley
To end the game.

But commando so small
Was quick to fall
and missiles that kept flight
Were our poor Stalker's plight.

He caught many with his face
and screamed "DUDE WHAT THE-PBBBFTH?!"
And died with grace.
I can't rhyme pbbbfth.

So here's to you dear Stalker,
You took it like a man
Next time I promise
I'll turn on heat-scan.

As you can see, I suck at poems and can't keep a structure to save my life, but that's the basic gist on how I accidentally took out a team mate a month or two ago. In my defense, that white out on frozen city can get pretty bad and he must have only had one point left in his center torso, he only got hit by like, two missiles. I apologized and he lol'd and said no hard feelings. Oh, and he didn't really say dud what the pbbbfth. I just made that part up. It wasn't even the end of the game. There was still an enemy Dragon or something kiting around. :P

One day near a forest
In water knee deep
I spotted an enemy
trying to sneak.

I headed straight forward
with Cicada in tow.
Aiming twin gauss
at the approaching foe.

I got him in sight
and fired a shot.
One slug hit the target,
The other did not.

Unknown to me
until too late
my friendly ran in front of me
and quickly sealed his fate.

One hit his cockpit
perfect like a dream,
But the other hit the Circada
who's arse i did ream.

:P

Today, I killed two friendlies trying to get at enemy light mechs.
Here's the twist, I was in a Jenner.

First time, an ally decides to go leg-hump a legged enemy raven and catches my 2x SRM4 blast instead of the immobile target he's obscuring.
Second time, a fast centurion is chasing the same spider as me, and dodges into my line of fire only to be killed by my 4 small lasers before I could swing them up...

In a heated match I made bad choices, didn't hit anything and shut down, at which point a friendly atlas unloaded on me some pretty damaging shots. I lashed at him pretty harshly even though he apologized, as much from frustration to myself than to his actions. Sorry about that whoever you were.

I guess I will confess to my two accidental TKs last week since it is a confessional thread. Well... Maybe I only feel sorry about one of them. Both happened on Forest Colony about a week ago late at night EST. The first one I feel sorry for... My teammate (Hunch 4sp) and I (Flame, 2LLs, UAC, SRM6) were zeroing in an enemy Hunch 4sp. I did not see my teammate on my right and the enemy Hunch was backing up behind a large rock island in the water. My teammate and I were both firing when all three of us ran into each other. We started rubber banding and I all I could see was Hunch from my cockpit view. I could not see the friend/foe indicator above his head. I had taken some damage so I was quite eager to get the kill. I fired and it was my teammate. I apologized to him and he accepted. I did get the Hunch. The second one I am only sorry the guy walked across my path while I was firing. Forest colony again, I was backing up away from an Atlas that was bearing down on me (Ilya, 2 UAC5, ERLL, 2ML). I feel into the drainage pipe area backing up away from the water with the Atlas wearing my butt out but I was doing good damage to him (surprisingly the UACs were not jamming because I was pounding the fire button). The teammate Phract was one armed and walked directly in my path while I was hammering away at the Atlas. The Atlas hit the Phract that walked in front of me and I delivered the coup de grace. I did kill the Atlas though after hammering away at his cockpit. So... I am sorry and I am sorry for you. <_<

I honestly have no idea who 4 of the 6 people I've TK'd in 750 battles are. The other 2 circled into my 4 x LL beams as I held them on red targets and I got to watch them crumble in front of me. Suspect thats what happened to most of the other 4....

In fairness I do try to stop firing when I see someone about to run into the beams but its &&^&% aggravating.

Not had a problem with the heat offlining bit to date but then I try to keep a careful eye on combatants around me and tend to pair up with them so if they overheat I step in to try to draw fire away to give them time to recover.

This last weekend, I was playing a match in Frozen City. I was holding down an alleyway knowing that an enemy mech would be crossing my path going from the left heading to my right. I was posted up ready to unload my alpha into him.

Before the enemy came from the alleyway to my left a friendly Fang/Flame comes from my right. He is smokin pretty good. It was obvious that he was trying to get away from something as he turned right into me and persisted to jam himself right into me. I try and pull a reverse into one of the side walls of the alleyway I was posted in as I am still expecting the imminent arrival of the baddy I want to blast with 4 LPLs. Sure enough my perspective victim comes just as I though, from my left.

However he catches sight of the awkward lag hug that me and the Dragon are currently busy with. He procedes to light us up.

In my absolute nervousness I get the impression that the dragon made it though. I cant see him or his smoke in my right hand side of the screen. I proceed to fire. The dragon must of had a XL Engine because I destroyed what had to be his right torso with my arm mounted LPLs.

I proceed to die in a stupid way as I killed my buddy, and the enemy team swooped on our spot and took me apart like a back of savage beasts.

If that Fang/Flame pilot reads my post and knows what I am talking about.

I am sorry buddy.

I hit my desk out of my own rage, shame and disappointment in myself after I did it.

But on the flip side.

A stationary atlas in a Frozen City alleyway does not exactly backup or turn on a dime. I know I probably surprised you turning that left corner... But maybe less persistence to go down that particular alleyway might have paid off for the two of us?

Again that is no excuse, i should have not fired my weapons and I am truly sorry.

Indeed.

No, no remorse for you who brings the objectively worst mech in this game to the table. Let you and all your kind know only darkness.

So instead, bring SRM boats only, because like Inappropriate here, your brains aren't large enough to think outside of the current OP weapon.

I was hoping I would stumble across this again. I played a match a while back where a team mate powered down inside the crashed ship on frozen city night. I saw this person but had no idea one way or the other so I fired, pause, fired, pause, then they power up and shoot back...I just typed in "whoops".

Sorry about that. Although they should consider keeping friendlies identifiable even when shut down.

Woke from shutdown bug before I knew it was a bug. Gambled and lost on guessing who was on my team. My only Team Kill to date.

I don't remember the name of who I killed, but it haunts me. I'm so sorry!
