The guy never even said anything or fired back. He just kept on going, probably thinking about how much of a dumb (you know what) I was. I didn't actually kill him and we both went on to finish up the enemy team together, but I still apologize to you, Mr. Atlas!

Then I got closer and realized the targeting bracket was for a target behind him in the distance.

Got the same problerm/mistake yesterday.
A mech in front of me and a red triangle ... but the enemy was behind the first mech.
Sorry!

If i shoot you at the start of the match it was an accident and i'm really sorry (Hasn't happened yet).
If i'm zoomed in sniping at a distant target and you walk in front of my shot it was an accident and noone's fault.
If you're under ECM and i cant tell who is who i only fire if i'm really, really sure the target is enemy. If it wasn't...sorry
If you can see i'm shooting a target and you run in to hug it and get the kill...i won't stop firing
If i shoot you and you're called Lishta it's because you're my wife and i can't do that in RL

One last game in the dead of the night,
The frozen city was heavy in snow.
With SRMs and a Commando in sight,
I didn't see Stalker moving so slow.
I lead for lag-shield,
and with careful aim
I let rip with a volley
To end the game.
But commando so small
Was quick to fall
and missiles that kept flight
Were our poor Stalker's plight.
He caught many with his face
and screamed "DUDE WHAT THE-PBBBFTH?!"
And died with grace.
I can't rhyme pbbbfth.
So here's to you dear Stalker,
You took it like a man
Next time I promise
I'll turn on heat-scan.
As you can see, I suck at poems and can't keep a structure to save my life, but that's the basic gist on how I accidentally took out a team mate a month or two ago. In my defense, that white out on frozen city can get pretty bad and he must have only had one point left in his center torso, he only got hit by like, two missiles. I apologized and he lol'd and said no hard feelings. Oh, and he didn't really say dud what the pbbbfth. I just made that part up. It wasn't even the end of the game. There was still an enemy Dragon or something kiting around.

In water knee deep
I spotted an enemy
trying to sneak.
I headed straight forward
with Cicada in tow.
Aiming twin gauss
at the approaching foe.
I got him in sight
and fired a shot.
One slug hit the target,
The other did not.
Unknown to me
until too late
my friendly ran in front of me
and quickly sealed his fate.
One hit his cockpit
perfect like a dream,
But the other hit the Circada
who's arse i did ream.

Here's the twist, I was in a Jenner.
First time, an ally decides to go leg-hump a legged enemy raven and catches my 2x SRM4 blast instead of the immobile target he's obscuring.
Second time, a fast centurion is chasing the same spider as me, and dodges into my line of fire only to be killed by my 4 small lasers before I could swing them up...

In fairness I do try to stop firing when I see someone about to run into the beams but its &&^&% aggravating.
Not had a problem with the heat offlining bit to date but then I try to keep a careful eye on combatants around me and tend to pair up with them so if they overheat I step in to try to draw fire away to give them time to recover.

Before the enemy came from the alleyway to my left a friendly Fang/Flame comes from my right. He is smokin pretty good. It was obvious that he was trying to get away from something as he turned right into me and persisted to jam himself right into me. I try and pull a reverse into one of the side walls of the alleyway I was posted in as I am still expecting the imminent arrival of the baddy I want to blast with 4 LPLs. Sure enough my perspective victim comes just as I though, from my left.
However he catches sight of the awkward lag hug that me and the Dragon are currently busy with. He procedes to light us up.
In my absolute nervousness I get the impression that the dragon made it though. I cant see him or his smoke in my right hand side of the screen. I proceed to fire. The dragon must of had a XL Engine because I destroyed what had to be his right torso with my arm mounted LPLs.
I proceed to die in a stupid way as I killed my buddy, and the enemy team swooped on our spot and took me apart like a back of savage beasts.
If that Fang/Flame pilot reads my post and knows what I am talking about.
I am sorry buddy.
I hit my desk out of my own rage, shame and disappointment in myself after I did it.
But on the flip side.
A stationary atlas in a Frozen City alleyway does not exactly backup or turn on a dime. I know I probably surprised you turning that left corner... But maybe less persistence to go down that particular alleyway might have paid off for the two of us?
Again that is no excuse, i should have not fired my weapons and I am truly sorry.

No, no remorse for you who brings the objectively worst mech in this game to the table. Let you and all your kind know only darkness.
So instead, bring SRM boats only, because like Inappropriate here, your brains aren't large enough to think outside of the current OP weapon.

Sorry about that. Although they should consider keeping friendlies identifiable even when shut down.

I don't remember the name of who I killed, but it haunts me. I'm so sorry!
