Please don't rage too hard...It was just too good of a match to leave unposted! <_<

ECM will be changed I'm sure!

ECM Online?

Please, please, please don't rage too hard. I don't get too many chances to pull out the good ole' 2-D very often, but when I do, magic happens. This time with FRAPS on full throttle!

Quad ECM equipped lights are on the loose, wielding Teamspeak and using coordination to overcome their heavier, less graceful enemies. Yes, its a three minute match. Still, I hope you enjoy the quick little video!

^Awesome community, lots of people to play with :P Its very easy.

Special thanks to: Akke, Tempo, Doomsday Monk (The abrasive one)

Remember how, at the start of a match in closed Beta, there would be the initial knockdown phase? Like two or three people running into each other? Or an Atlas or Dragon pushing his way through everyone resetting their weapon groups?

Ahhh nostalgia.

I do have to agree firestorm, if knock down was in place, that might have gone diff...but you team work was really good, and that is what battletech is really about.

yeah, and jenners spawning inside an atlas and instantly falling down and/or into space for a moment, but they fixed that spawn issue and spread some of the others out... don't miss the dragon griefers but damn do they need to bring knockdowns back

Hey, this is a great representation on why ECM is so broken.

Thank for pointing the obvious.

However, there is also another point on why team speak is essential.
I do phone matches with 3 freinds, we are 4 heavies and usually dominate
a map simply by communication effectively.

There is a lot to learn from this video...

I frequent the public NGNG community TS server.

I tried PuG herding all through closed Beta and up until Mid-Decemember. Its been about 1.5 months of teamwork in and I can honestly say I will never be going to back to 100% pugging again.

The game more enjoyable with people (even if teamspeak randoms or unknowns.) It entirely changes the whole experience and has turned the game around for me.

I was on the verge of dropping it, until I bit the bullet and braved teamspeak. Never looking back now.

Complety agree. Knockdowns really brought out everyone's inner Jenner. Then LRM online...and then...ECM was introduced...

Its been a long road.

Nice video. Kudos for intelligent Commando driving; in and out quickly with a few bitten ankles along the way.

OH MY GAWD MY EYES ARE OPEN NOW. IT ONLY TOOK 4 PEOPLE WORKING TOGETHER AGAINST UNCOORDINATED OPPONENTS TO SHOW THAT ECM IS OP.

Or you know, Coordination is OP. One of the two. Clearly those same 4 people running splatterpults would have just bent over backwards and cried at the reaming the other team would give rather than destroy them just as quickly if not faster.

Geez.

I dunno. Would it suck to have been on the side that was slaughtered? Yes, but it's nothing to baaww about, given that I'm currently a PUGger.
The video is a good eye-opener about coordination and teamwork; If you weren't a coordinated team, then that stunt would've been hard to pull off. As it was, "Fantastic racism," as it were.

I run a 3M lately but if they wanted to completely remove ECM it would be fine with me as I do not use STREAKS anyways and is why I chose the Cicadas even though I have my Ravens to Master

actually with the latest improvements to the netcode... I don't feel like ECM is effecting me that much anymore . the annoyance of ECM seems much reduced... at least since the reduction (not elimination) of the lagshield, most lights can at least be hit on the regular.

I still feel that ECM as done by MWO has too many capabilities which extend far beyond the canonical tabletop Guardian ECM and I still feel like this was done to discourage the boating use of Streaks from other mechs, but ironically most ECM light that can mount streaks does so... but maybe even that will change as netcode improves more.

I don't think Streak became popular because they are all powerful... but instead became the answer to poor netcode as the only way to counter lights. I would like to see streak get modded to not keep their continuous lock on... add a longer lock lead time, and the need reaquire lock after they have been launched... then allow the ECM to have stats more inline with traditional tabletop Guardian ECM.

just my opinion

ECM didn't win you that match, SSRM won you that much along with high speed lights using them. Your lights had a monopoly over SSRM use, and that is where the problem really is.

ECM + SSRM makes for a pretty over powered combo. That is the only problem that I can identify. A weapon system that can hit at a 100% rate being monopolized by one side due to its' combination with ECM.

...erm, no. Streak SSRMs did not win them that match. The fact that they were on the fringes of the battle, harassing the flanks, and picking off bigger and slower mechs separated from their packs is what won them that game. If you'll notice, that Dragon (I think it was a Dragon?) was off completely by itself and nobody came to help him while the three or four Lights swarmed all over him.

Every mech that they attacked was off on the flank and by itself. This is the primest example of actually pretty good Light play. Hit, pick off the straggler, fade before retribution can come. There were some clumsy instances of running in to buildings or other mechs, but this is still the way to play a Light if you're in a group.
