Pretty baby is great except for the paint (love it or hate it), and having the 2x missiles on the arm, and the energy on the torso, swap them around and it would be kickarse. Then you could go dual erppc arms, and either a big bunch or srm or lrm on the chest. The hard points make for interesting setups, but not really that practical.

Price is a bit high too. Its like 1/3 the price of an entire regular game for 1 piece of content. I understand this game is free to play, and bills have to be payed. but the content that is pay, is way overpriced. Iv already chucked in more than any other game would ever cost to purchase, and all ive got is a couple of hero mechs and extra bays.

I can now say for sure that its not on my shopping list. Redundant Awesome with bad paint. I'll use my 9m instead. To use any Awesome is like self-inflicted gimping when you could use the Stalker 3F.

No thank you, I do like the hero mechs as I own all the others but I just don't like the Awesome, for me personally it is a useless mech as I do not have the awesome ability to pilot one with success.

The hero Awesome will make a nice target though, with that big skull marking the cockpit hit box.

There is this mech in my garage called a Atlas RS.... why would I want a $24.00 Awesome? "Pretty Baby" gets cored in 2-3 hits regardless of the paint scheme.

Would depend on the price.
At the current level I'll never a buy a hero mech.

Not the easiest or best mech. It'll take a fair bit of mechlab work to achieve a perfect balance. But we will see.

Too expensive, if it were a little cheaper I would consider buying it.

Too expensive by far, and not very appealing hardpoints = no sale.

Admittedly, I'm never going to drop $30 on a single piece of any content, even if it was a literal "I Win" button.

That said, still no. A) Awesomes are really easy targets. I don't fear duking it out with one regardless of what I'm piloting for reasons which others have already explained. You will likely be matched against a stalker or atlas, both of which eat AWS's for breakfast

Finally, C) The hardpoints. WTF with the hardpoints? 2 PPC's and LRMs fit in a Cat better. 3 SRM6s and 2 large laser also fit in an abundance of heavies which can fill the role better to begin with.

Dat facecannon...what is an assault (a $30 Hero, no less) doing be forced to carry a medium laser in one of it's 3 laser hardpoints...Then the other 2 are split between the arm and the opposite torso. Have fun with that convergence.

Dat narctube...similar to the poor laser hardpoint layout, 1 of your missile hardpoints is in an oversized narctube. LRM 20 coming out of a 4-tube hardpoint. 1 AMS will take most of those down by itself.

Frankly, this all adds up to a garbage mech. Not worth 30 internet space bills, much less $30

Since WMO gave me back so much MC and I have painted my Mechs all pretty again i dropped the 6,000MC. I named her Snowflake, and dolled her up as a Thug. She does OK, but i figure it will just take some practice to improve the handling.

If i didn't have so much MC left over I would not have broke down and spent so much MC. I could have converted 1/3 my D-DCs XP to GXP with 10,000 MC!

Put more hardpoints on it. As is, it doesn't have a place in MWO if you look at the other mechs it will have to compete with.

The Swayback gets 9 energy hardpoints and uses them, the Stalker 3F gets 6 energy and 4 missile, all capable of mounting any size weapon. The Pretty Baby, having 1 single critical energy, 2 energy and 3 missile, is not the loadout capability of an Assault mech in MWO. Wouldn't I be better off in any mech that can compete on an even playing field?

Have you ever heard the fable, "The Emperor's New Clothes"? In it some tailors con the Emperor of a country into believing he is wearing clothes made of some magical ultra-rare fiber that only the intelligent can see. Not wanting to admit how stupid he is the Emperor pays the tailors for thin air and steps out onto his balcony naked to the laughter of all the MWO players who promptly blow him to bits.

Okay, I changed the ending a bit for dramatic impact, but ya know.... ^_^ I really wanted to buy this mech too.

Yes, with pretty much that loadout, but every other mech, Hero or otherwise, has some hardpoint options that vary from the stock model. That's why we have Mechlab, which has to be part of any balancing equation when assigning hardpoints to the chassis.

Hardpoints don't even exist in Battletech so the notion that you can apply strict stock hardpoints to one mech here and there doesn't fly, either they all get to use Mechlab's ability or you have no, on the game field, balance.

I was planning on buying this (despite the paint job) until I saw the hardpoints.

I've changed my vote to hell no.

I bought one. In practice, the PB is better than it seems on paper. It's actually a pretty effective mech. Unlike the 9M, you can fully utilize all of the hard points, and other than accelerating/decelerating, it is much more maneuverable than the 9M. And it's faster. And has a bigger alpha. My build is:

XL400
1 LL
2 MPL
3 SRM6 (2T ammo)
18 DHS
Endo

It brawls better than any other Awesome in my experience. I was super skeptical, but I'm very happy with it so far.

My first hour with Pretty Baby left me with a bit of buyers remorse. I felt like I had wasted quite a bit of real world money and time as I had bought a 400XL engine to pair with it.

After deciding to go with a Short Range brawler/striker build I really began liking this mech.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...974ac78abcf91e8

Been able to do 500 to 1000 damage pretty easily, a horrible game usually has me at 300+ damage.

Does not look that scary, but is extremely effective in game. You will be rapidly hitting things for 60 damage.

The missile tubes aren't a big deal, they delay between volleys is tiny and seam to actually help with missile accuracy.

You are an Assault mech capable of going 89.1KPH with speed tweak, at that speed you have the agility and ability to shift your damage around more evenly. Use your right arm as a shield arm and you only lose minor damage potential if you lose it.

It is fast enough to take anything in its weight class by surprise, I've been able to eat Atlases up easily just by swooping in for an Alpha strike, passing them, and circling back to hit whatever the most damage piece of them is.

The only thing I don't like is the 1/3 deceleration penalty, although it has saved my life a few times when I misjudged my heat and powered down, simply due to the fact that it takes so long to stop moving.

The 9M plays like an oversized 4SP, the Pretty Baby has a play style on its own.

Just make sure to buff up your front armor and be aware enough not to get shot in the back many times or by many enemies.

I would probably buy this 'Mech if we could customize the paintjob.

The Pretty Baby is pretty much inferior to the 8V, which I find hilarious.
