It looks interesting, then again all the hero mechs look interesting.

How much 'gold' to take it for a 24 -48 hour test drive vs outright purchase? Because I want to see if we get on before I put in a bay after all.

I'll have to see factors like the hardpoints, torso twist, and max engine size, but most likely not. Aside from the fact that I'd have a hard time parting with 6000 MC, the Awesome is usually just not a particularly optimal chassis. It's a Stalker with less tonnage to work with and easier to headshot. It does have a bit more speed and torso twist to work with compared to the Stalker, but these hardly offset the Awesome's deficiencies.

The awesomes disgustingly massive advantage is the speed. It's possible to get an awesome over 80KPH+, which is -NOT- possible with basically any other chassis at or above that class (65 or so i think for an atlas/stalker at best as it were)

So it's a zippy assault that can bring 10 extra tons worth of facepunchy and keep up with the main heavy force easily. That's a pretty big deal

I wish I hadn't bought that AWS-8V last week - I'd have rather picked this up.

I only bought the 9M so far because I've been waiting for the Awesome hero before moving on with the chassis. Generally don't buy 3 C-bill only mechs. I just buy 1-2 and wait for a Hero. :o

LOVE the paint job  although I grew up with that kind of obnoxious paint on muscle cars  They hit a sweet spot for me, as I enjoy the 9M, but refuse to level another two variants for elite/master. This gives me two fast awesomes, and a disposable 'farmer' to dump once leveled. I'm a sucker at the current pricing, but I gotta have one.

That being said, I don't think any AWS will ever be 'competitive', but for fun-runs...heck yea! I've spent $$$ on the Ilya and some phranken skins so far, neither of which I regret. I'm quite bored with the Ilya at this point, and I don't really want to get into dragons, so it's really a no-brainer in terms of 'least painfull way to farm awesomes' for me.

The paint scheme is ok. Wonder if they'll let us change the colors on this one...

Nice idea but when support replies "Done and well bargained" you ARE going to have to put your money where your mouth is you realise?

If they honestly replied using those words, I would make a very unmanly "SQUEEEE!" noise.

But yes, of course I realize that. I'm totally serious about it. If any admins or GM's read this, feel free to knock off 2500 MC from my account and add a Pretty Baby to my 2nd open mech slot (not the first empty one, that one is reserved for a hero Orion or Highlander).

It's a situation where I have some interest in their product (in this case, the Awesome hero mech PB), but not enough interest to warrant the 6000 MC price tag. So from me they could make either 0 dollars, or about 10 dollars on this virtual hero mech that they have unlimited supply of... because it's just a data entry in my user account file.

People have said in this thread "Well if you don't like it don't buy it, and **** about it, don't QQ on the forums"

That's kind of silly. Obviously this game is still in beta, and feedback on price points and the game economy probably some of the most important feedback we can give. I can confirm that I would spend more money more often on this game, and feel better about the whole experience if the purchases were in the 5 to 10 dollar range. I'm not alone in that mindset, I've seen a lot of other posters suggesting PGI try to just make higher volume of sales at lower price points.

Not sure if Im gonna buy this. 6000 MC seems really steap and I have bought all teh other hero mechs. From what I can see on the model and the alpha of 61 it seems to have:

1 ppc/erppc
1 lrm-15(art?)
1 srm-4(art?)
1 medium laser
1 large/erlarge laser

= Alpha 61

So with that the slot layout is:

RA : 1e
RT: 1m (15tubes)
CT: -
HD 1e
LT 1e
LA 1m (4 tubes)

All awesomes have 7 HP so odds are there is an extra energy in the RA and an extra missile in the RT. This means you can build almost the same thing on most other awesomes.

you forgot that you also get to do in game advertising for PGI since their "Steers n ******" logo is all over her face.

BTW.. wtf does a Steer Skull have to do with Piranhas, anyhow?

I won't but my problem won't be the cost, or the fact it's an awesome. It's that is has knees.

I want more chicken legged hero's please.

But more germane to the topic assuming the topic is cost, if the released a stalker hero and price it 6-6.5k I would buy it without blinking.

I almost picked the pilot name Lord Poopypants. Nothing like a silly name to help the enemy underestimate you...

Wont buy a single hero mech till garage slots come with them. And I dont mean increase their MC price and make it look like the slot was free either.

I'll admit I'm the first to vote HELLZZZZZZ NOOOOO!!!!!!
I wouldn't be caught dead running around in a mech called Pretty Baby!

WTF are the devs smoking lately? Pretty Baby? Seriously? Now if its a cannon name then ok but something tells me there is no cannon hero mech called Pretty Baby.

Not to mention they need to make the game "WORK" Before they keep adding this extra **** to the game.

A good 1/3 people after the newest patch have black screens to Mech lab bug Weapon firing is still off on Ballistics etc. This game should have never gone open beta yet. Content should be put on the back burner until the game works correctly and more importantly STABLE!!!

The warping has improved 10 fold. It's everything else that is still screwed.

all the hero mechs are pulled from the novels, therefore are canon.
