well sure if you have no idea what you are talking about, but outside of cuckoo land

here in reality most of us know the A1 is way overpowered for a variety of reasons!

My friend in LRM Atlas does it all the time.

I would have had some pity if it was Caustic Valley but there is plenty of cover on River City. 700m gives you 7 seconds for cover based shooting even with a Large Laser or ECM on top of that. Did they have Artemis?

Yep, all except Cata had Artemis + TAG

D-DC, ECM LRM 15, TAG

It's original...they just stay in the back.

he tries to stay in the back, but almost all the time he's almost brawling distance.

Really? What is going to be said about the HBK-4P.. it boats lasers. Stalkers can boat missiles or lasers. One of the spiders boat machine guns, when that crit system comes into place, it could be a hassle.

People need to stop crying about the last thing that killed them. I use an A1 from time to time. The heat can be a nuisance. The head hitbox is massive. The ears can be shot off, The range is short. Stop bitching, and learn to adapt to different situations.

Jesus fuck nuggets people. I am piloting the A-1 IT IS Over POWERED.

SRM6's are disgustingly good for their weight and size.

I was pugging in all of those games.

People I premade with are OTLWS clan and Glock etc.

none of those people are in any of those matches.

Every match I chose a flank to rush down on my own and smashed into the side of the enemy team taking their rear stragglers first before moving further up the field.

So you were playing against people who didn't use tactics or strategy at all. Gratz, any mech can do that.

It's tough. I've encountered similar with my 4-man before and beaten odds like that. Even then sometimes you just don't have that kind of luck. You take the loss and move on to the next match.

Every match I chose a flank to rush down on my own and smashed into the side of the enemy team taking their rear stragglers first before moving further up the field.

The point still stands: You can do that kind of damage in any mech.

No-one is denying that SRMs are good. The issue at hand is if the A1 is OP.

Cuckoo land? Speak for yourself. The A1 is no more overpowered than any other mech out there.

Just because it can do a lot of damage doesnt mean its overpowered. It should stay the way it is. There are new mechs coming out all the time.

no it shouldn't.

A-1 Ability to boat the most powerful weapon in the game with the largest number of said weapon.
Extremely small side torso profile means it can mount an XL engine without losing any survivability vastly increasing your ability to load the mech out.
It goes at 86.4 kph. Fast enough to be able to outrun almost any other heavy or medium mech. The ones it can't outrun dont matter because their weapon load outs are crap.
It has the largest torso twist of any mech in the game meaning you can nearly do a full rotation of the torso if you have elite skills unlocked.
All this with FULL armour on top of the Catapults hitboxes being buggy and a lot of weapons fire just flat out doesn't hit you properly.

The A-1 is monstrously over powered

Categorizing Hardpoints just by Energy/Ballistic/Missile is not enough.
Subcategories would solve balance issues.
Make the A1 Missile Slots LRM only.

The A1 was never supposed to be a close range SRM Brawler - it is supposed to be a second Line LRM support without backup weapons.

No the best way to solve the problem is to limit the number of critical slots that can be assigned. Have a pod of say 5 or 6 missile slots in each arm on the A-1 instead of allowing any set of 3 missile weapons on each arm.

6 missile slots = 3 SRM6
5 missile slots = 2 SRM6 + 1 SRM 4

obviously the SRM weapons need their slot numbers increased. I mean that much should be obvious.
