if you had the choice, which one would you use?

2x LB 10-X AC
or
1x AC/20

AC/20 is 20 dmg per hit each 4 seconds but the LB since they are in combo is 20 scattered dmg every 2.5 seconds

which mean 5 dps vs 8 dps

AC can easily do 20 dmg at 800m but the other one will most likely miss or do very low dmg

LB, for me, is more short range dmg like the srm

what would you do?

AC20.

With less weight, more damage on the location you want to actually hit and better effective range due to the horribly bad LB-10x weapon mechanic, there is no comparison.

2 LB 10-X AC. Fire independently or together so you aren't limited. Also a way to conserve ammo.

Besides it is a larger spread if the LB X are in 2 different components.

While it´s fun to "TwoLBXThreeSRM-in-the-face" for a couple of rounds the AC/20 is the better weapon choice.

The LBX is a mediocre weapon atm and i would not use it before the intended overhaul as a crit weapon.

AC/20 for realz
Twin LBXs for lulz

But you really should throw twin UACs in the question as well :)

Twin LBX 10 and 4 medium lasers on a Cataphract-3D that goes 86.6kph with 2 jump jets with near max armor :)
It's quite a fun build to run, had more fun with this build then my other UAC5 or Gauss/PPC builds.

I've destroyed lb10x mechs in lights, it helps that most cannot aim though.

I don't think I have actually seen to many do good with the weapon either it feels very weak.

AC/20s are more precise and weigh less.

Depends on what mood I'm in. I've got a CPLT-K2 with dual LBX, and I've got a CTF-2X with an AC/20.

I'd go with the 20--no contest. If you can aim you get more vastly more benefit by using an AC. LB10x may have more DPS when paired in close quarters, but it's poor compared to actual DPS specialized AC's and otherwise inefficient to slot. You'll get more benefit from paired PPCs, UAC/5s, or 10s than a LB10x.

Try em both. They lend themselves to different playstyles. A twin LB-10 Atlas can still wreck faces, it's not cut and dry.

AC20 weighs less, and does functionally more damage. At optimum max range for the AC20 (270m) the LBX is already dropping off because of the ridiculous shot gun spray. At farther ranges, the AC20 damage begins to drop off, but it still does all of its damage to one spot, while the LBX continues to spread.

AC20, no contest.

alot depends on how they do the new crit system. if lbx gets a very high crit rate, meaning high chance for 60 dam to intrenals. YES to dual lbx. if no, ac 20.

If the LBX gets the ability to change between it's round types then that, for now AC/20 though it gets destroyed super easy :/

The short answer is: Whatever suits your play style best.

When I bought my DDC, I couldn't hit a thing with the AC20.
I switched to dual AC 5's because that gives the best Sustained DPS (when Heat is considered as a factor).
I was able to hit accurately at over 600meters, but couldn't hit at all at close range. Since this was intended to be a brawler, I swapped out to dual LB10-X's and now I seem to be able to hit a bit better at under 300m.

Also the main advantage of the LB10-X is that when striking a mech that has no armor, you have multiple chances of causing a critical hit, where an AC20 has only the once chance.

The damage per Alpha strike (at point blank range) is equal, higher rate of fire gives the LB10-X a higher DPS at roughly the same HPS.

Note: I only use the Atlas for the ECM, otherwise I'd rather pilot my Stalker 5M with 4 SRM-6's, an SRM-4 and 5 medium lasers. For brawling damage, no mech beats it.
