Aim Hack Or Just Really Good?

They were right in the brawl, taking amazing pinpoint shots (Head shots, CT/BCT shots). On Lights to Assaults with out any problems whether they were moving 150KPH or shooting them full of holes with SRM's, AC/5's, etc.
Ending numbers always seemed consistent with these individuals as well. Around the 1,100 damage mark, and getting majority of the kills.
Are things like "Aim Hack" actually prevelant in this game? I've only been playing for a couple weeks now but, have never seen people who could get numbers like this.

So, they were either touching off ammo or spreading their damage around quite a bit.

While aimbots may be out there, I don't think they are as prevalent as you may think.

New guys like yourself will find themselves matches up against (mostly) other players within their skill league so they can have more fun playing people whom they can actually compete against.

My only experience with MWO has been my own play time, and watching NGNG.
From what I saw, people usually only averaged on highs 500~800 damage.
*Edit*
Thank you all for the quick replies. I'll continue my endeavers to become a better pilot, hopefully I'll reach numbers like this one day.
I just remember NGNG mentioning something about aimhacks which brought this thought to mind.

As a great group of guys NGNG are (A.C.E.S.), they are much more entertaining to watch than they are exceptionally skilled. I've played with and seen pilots who would run circles around them.
But like people have said, the best way to get better is to simply practice and play more. With ELO, you'll find yourself in an environment where you can actually work on getting better instead of getting stomped by many franchise vets.

1. If they are doing 1,100 then they are not doing "pin point" head shots. If a Light mech has damage on it then 1 ac/20 round can pretty much wipe it out (especially if it's a torso shot). A light mech running circles can easily face its rear torso to a mech and bam by by light mech). I have gotten shots like this in my Yen-lo a lot of times it was just reflex firing and getting a good hit in.
2. With the recent net code fixes in the most recent patch, all mechs have become easier to hit with ballistic type weapons so yes you are seeing more precise shots from this. Especially on the faster moving mechs. (This actually messed me up for a bit cause I got so used to taking in account the lag shield when firing.)
3. ac/20 and guass weapons do a LOT of pinpoint damage. add that to ammo crits, xl engines and such mechs can blow up fast. I can tell you a lot of times I go for torso shots on a mech first. With less armor, you can take it out faster either relieving them of a major weapon group, or, in some cases a pleasant suprise, they are running an xl and you kill them.
4. I have no doubt that their are some that are using an "aim-bot" type cheat, but I believe that there are more people that have been playing this game for a long while that are good at pin-pointing their ballistic shots. (or have really good games and get a on a nice hitting streak).

There are hacks, but since this game is server side authoritative lets hope the problem is manageable. Certainly PGI has been quick to react to any such reports.
Most likely it is a Closed Beta Founder with no Real Life. I would not sweat it too much, some ppl are just really good at leading targets.
Try and develop an awareness of what is going on around you, pick your shots, use a mouse unless you have a high frustration threshold and just like joysticks, preferably in conjunction with rudder and throttle setup.Follow that fricking Fatlas, shoot only if fired upon or when an enemy is already being targeted by someone else.
If you do come across suspicious behaviour, report to support@mwomercs.com. Same for Disconnecters and AFK Farmers. Screenie or video highly recommended.
Have fun and have mercy if you should be sitting on my six. Stick with it and practise, get your loadout right. Group your weapons sensibly. (Same type)

hitting someone's CT from a kilometer away really isn't that hard, let alone at 50 meters. Ac-20s and PPCs are just good weapons (high damage, pinpoint delivery)when used well and are likely to rack up significant kills.

I've done it plenty of times it is especially easy with splatter weapons......if someone did it with precise weapons then the other team just sucked bad and didn't rush em and let the guy go off.
When you have 8 competent players, you rarely get over 500.

Someone with 1100 damage isn't using an aim hack. Someone with 8 kills and 200 damage is definitely an aim hack.

110 shots over seven minutes (just as a random value) is a refire rate of one shot every 3.8 seconds, or one AWS-8Q salvo every 11 seconds...
It's technically possible, barely... it just requires landing one PPC shot every three seconds for seven minutes straight. I have yet to see that kind of volume out of ANY PPC mech.
