Great patch!

Performance improvements are very tangible and appreciated.
Permanent paint options will go a long way to making me feel like I "own" my mechs.
New heat balancing feels just about perfect.
Pre and post match screens go a long way to making the game feel polished.

Good work!

Performance seems to be a little better for me.
I like how new end game screen and scoreboard look but they really lack the clarity of the previous ones.
New IFF colour for friendlies makes it hard to see them on the minimap.
With recent heat changes PPCs and ERPPCs feel really good.
There are some new bugs (like with targeting boxes) and the old ones are still here.
Overall this patch is not bad, but it's far from good either. You really need to test patches before release, or maybe set up a public test server so we could do it.

Regarding the new in-game text colours since I am not sure it belongs in the colour feedback thread.

The white for "all" text is good.

I find the new blue used for team text is very hard to read. It requires more time looking at it to read it effectively. It is more difficult to read than the previous colour.

I also find the blue friendly markers on the mini-map harder to see than previously. In particular, the minimap is hard to read using peripheral vision while the previous blue stood out better.

The blue used for marking friendly mechs on the screen is sufficient to the purpose though also hard to read if you mouse over it.

Patch is great, but I'm not particularly fond of the hue you chose for the friendly blue. I would almost describe it as 'harsh' and it's pretty hard to read when someone says something in team-chat. After having played a few matches, I have to say that I prefer the old hue more.

Betty also likes to repeat the start-up sequence whenever I change my viewpoint while spectating. Never happened before this patch.

Hello, this is my first post and been playing this game for about a month now.

Just wanted to say thank you to the devs for the brilliant patch, really like the start/end game info now.
... the previous patch was very nice aswell, with the mech start voice. Classic :P

Keep up the good work and will support as much as I can MC Credits since it definitely deserves it.

The new blue of team chat is very hard to read in certain environments. It looks good, though.

I noticed some "ghost" targeted mech brackets appearing on my HUD. They said a mech was in front of me, but as I moved, the bracket stayed in the same place on my screen. The actual mech was located behind me someplace and only intermittently showed up in the correct place (actually around the mech).

EDIT: Also, while spectating a live teammate, switching from one player to another plays the startup sequence audio clip.

EDIT2: I noticed that holding the arrow keys, while in the chat window, does not scroll the insert doohickey. I have to press the arrow key every time I want the insert thingy to move in the chat box (for example, while editing something I typed before pressing enter).

Something I discovered was that I can't hold backspace to delete chat text from the input window anymore. I have to press it once for every letter.

That's kinda annoying. xD

I haven't been able to play through a complete game yet, I always get disconnected within a minute of the game starting and sent to the home screen. I rarely had this problem before, my ping is normally ~90.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

1. fps have finally stabalized. pre (10 - 55) post (28 - 32)
2. still getting torso twist fps drop, though not as often
3. like MALICE said, blue color IFF sucks @$$
4. still getting texture bug, now MORE often
5. still cannot bind mouse wheelup/down. you EVER gonna fix this?
6. get rid of stupid start up sequence, let me modify weapon groups instead
7. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^, let me see pre match info longer
8. did not get reimbursed for the one mech i camo'ed, ticket submitted.
9. have yet to see fps bug after 15+ games, usually get it by then
10. i could still use more info for end of battle report. lrms fired/hit; dmg by weapon type,
dmg by location (my/enemy mech/s) etc; etc
11. maps seem less grainy, colors more vivid
12. still cannot see my TAG on frozen city, ticket was submitted and forwarded long ago.

the list goes on, but those issues were not addressed in this patch.

all in all, this patch was a plus for me, all previous open beta patches were negative. for once, a SMALL step in the right direction. still a long way to go in my book as far as functionality goes. still opposed to more cosmetic/new mechs over functioality. functionality should be the PRIMARY concern.

The power up/down system is screwed up for me. I just spent about a minute trying to power my mech back up. It over heated so I pressed P. Instead of powering up it ignores it, auto powers up from the over heat, then ques the power cycle shutting me down again and just goes into a loop of that till I finally spam O till it says override shutdown and lets me move again.

Some stuff snipped (sorry)

^This, this and this. Oh, so very frustrating when you see the heat scale dropping esp. in Frozen City and you just shutdown and that momentary power up when you spam 'P' shows the heat below 50%, 40 % even and you shut down again and that/those pesky enemy mech(s) is/are doing that Circle of Death dance all over your 'Mech.

Please. Look. Into. This. Thank you.

It's not all bad news. The opening and endings are fantastic.
We may get used to it, but I miss the Green Team colors.
I also have had the 'ghost' bracket occur.
Overall a very cool patch, though.

Well, since this patch I am dying a LOT faster, for better or worse. I have never died so quickly and easily as I have since the patch. It seems my XL engine is exploding much easier because either my torso armor is being chewed through faster (maybe the lowered heat on high energy weapons is putting them to more frequent use?) or because there's something funky with the armor or the crits on the Cataphract now such that my right and left torsos are being sliced through like butter.

Patch impressions

Much smoother gameplay. :( To me this is the big one. Smoother framerates equals better immersion.
New Camo colors are very nice.
I really like the end of screen stats. Great job there.
weapons such as the PPC now seem more effective. Im a ballistic guy and with the improvement in frame rate they work better as far as targeting.
Over all great job PGI

Also seeing a lot of erroneous "Damaged by Fall Damage" reports in the last seven sources of damage report. We're talking Heavy and Assault mechs and they're not near any cliffs, just normal inclines/declines.

Gotta say, overall I'm really not happy with this latest patch.

Mech colors are WAY overpriced - I can buy a full expansion to a game for the price of ONE color scheme? Colors now cost more than Mech bays???

IFF colors - friends are impossible to see on mini-map, and names of friends impossible to read on most areas of every map.

Ghost enemies are targeted and remain visible on HUD even when no enemies are around, making it tough to tell what is a real enemy and what is not.

Enemy mechs targeted and visible on HUD, do not appear on mini-map???

Weapon bay doors indicator lights are impossible to see again.

Checking score during game, takes WAY too long, blocking your screen during fights (need to check score to see how many friends/foes are still alive during capture the flag).

Stats on my Awesomes were reduced.

And my number one complaint.... this is a BETA... yet a BETA that you are charging people real money for half-completed features?

I loved the previous patch, you guys fixed a lot of really good stuff. But this patch just took the game back about 4 steps. I mean, really, it is now cheaper to buy a mech than a paint scheme?

This is by far the BEST patch we've had in a long, long time. Game runs very smooth, performance is great....the new info screens are very informative. Very GOOD job to all! The only bug that I've noticed is the hanging enemy brackets. I can target an enemy mech (sometimes) and then I'll turn away and the red bracket will follow my windshield and remain on my screen even thou the mech is NOT in the direction I'm looking. So I target the mech N of me, I then turn and look west and the red box showing the enemy is still on my screen when there is NO enemy mech in that direction. I usually just press R a couple of times and it goes away. This doesn't happen in every game.....but it does happen occasionally. All in all thou, VERY NICE patch.

I'm very happy with the new patch. I gained about 10 fps with all settings on "very high".

The game looks great.

Overall it looks a lot more polished. Get the home screen and mech customization screen to be full screen instead of windowed, and the interface will be great.

I'll complain when it is warranted, but I think it is important to compliment when it is warranted as well.

Am enjoying this patch. And system side seems to be running really smoothly now. But will we get any additional content soon?

The same 4 maps with night versions is getting really old. As is the same game modes.

The patch has caused a huge performance increase for me. It just feels so much better now. Plus the new interface, post-match screen, etc is very slick! :(

Developers have any place grow from hands? I played with your fake and the game remains one negative. I will recommend to all and to all the resources do not play that ****. I hope that your project is going to die soon, and forget about it. It is impossible to play this ****.
The maximum that you have two weeks were able to do is to change the colors of the game.
