  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
Slight decrease in FPS from "Nearly unplayable" (mid-30s standing still, which dropped to 12-15 in a fight) to "Entirely unplayable" (Wavers between 4 and 15 FPS the entire match)
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
Before the patch, yes, Now it seems erratic and unpredictable
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
I am using all of the minimum settings available in-game, as I was before the patch
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)
Previous: Solid 60 in the menus, 30 in-game while standing still, 12-15 in a fight
Current: 30 in the menus, 4-15 in-game

S!

Seems to be gone but replaced by the bug where game hangs with sound looping.

S!

Performance went up considerably and smoothness of the game is great. Pings tolerable and can hit lights too. But now I got the damned freezing bug, several matches in a row already the game freezes up and sound stays looping. Only task manager kills it. Not nice at all. Fix 1 bug, introduce a few new ones? :o

I wish I was in your shoes, I still get this bug like crazy. It doesn't matter what I do, first drop and I get alot. To the point where lately I've been rage quitting because of it lol....

so something interesting happened today, I was playing and had a song playing in the background with windows media player. When the game went into 4fps mode, the music became choppy as well.

I had eliminated the frames bug. It was running smooth all the time, then this last patch, slowly it has crept back. I am really frustrated dealing with this old bug that makes the game unplayable. I do not mean to wine but I just had to stop playing because I was not helping my team and I was just trying to not run into things. I have heard many people praise this new patch, hopefully this next one gets me back into perfection. I might have to stop playing in the mean time, I mean when it gets really bad it just makes the game not even close to fun.

You try uninstalling and reinstalling from scratch? That seems to help some folks.

I've had numerous disconnects from games lately. Before the Feb 5th patch I had no problems staying connected to games, but now I disconnect every few games. Just now I was unable to stay connected to ANY game, disconnecting from literally 5 games in a row during the loading screen.

This is after a fresh reinstall, drivers updated, no internet problems. Restarting Disconnect appears to happen both during loading and during the match. Video settings are at max and have not been changed since I started playing in November. FPS appears to average around 60.

System specs:
i7 970@3.5GHz
12GB ram
Radeon 7950
Win 7 Ultimate

Anyone find a fix for this?

Someone on another thread said to go into the bin32 folder where MWO is installed, delete frontend_version.dll, and then bring up the client to re-patch. Apparently this will replace corrupted files and install missing ones. I did this two days ago and I no longer crashed every other game.

Jesus, can't even play last night or this morning; 15-30 seconds into each round it kicks me back to the mechlab.

Upon starting a game, I load into a map and run for about 10-15 seconds before I get disconnected from the match and put back in the MechBay, where I can join another match but the Mech I was just using remains in the match. Really unsure where to go from here, I did a fresh install and still no luck.

Yeah, random disconnects have been happening to me for the last 2 patches as well. Nothing obvious in the omicron.log, but then I'm not sure that I'd know what to look for. This is getting really annoying. One or two matches in a row complete with no problems, and then I'll suddenly drop from the next game at some seemingly random point (could be as I crest a hill, as I'm typing a message, as I stop to zoom, any number of scenarios). I've been averaging around a 30ms ping, so its not like I have a terrible connection. Ugh.

Update (13-Feb-2013):

Thought it was fixed. Its not. Just dropped from 4 out of 5 games. Makes me want to play anything but MWO.

Since the last patch my stability has improved markedly.

For quite some time I'd been experiencing sudden frame rate drops in game, every game. These would usually last about a minute or so and then disappear for another five before returning. Either way, that appears to no longer be occurring, and in addition I no longer seem to have to restart every 5 games to avoid BSOD.

Two thumbs up, dudes. Thanks!

Ping is all over the place tonight, usually I run at 60-70 and I am hitting that tonight but I am also spiking up to 500+ which is causing massive rubber banding.

I'm starting to get a "Session Lost" now too.

It was this very last patch, never happened before (well...it's been a long while since).

I had this issue before the Feb. 5th patch. The Feb. 5th patch completely remedied the issue, until a few days ago. I had an open ticket with PGI, however they've closed it and added it to the 'Known Issue' portion of their bug-hunting.

So... it's a known issue, they're working on it. I haven't really had the problem at the same frequency - usually a client closing and reopening in Administrator repairs the issue, but if it doesn't, a PC reboot does.

Game has become unplayable after the patch: constantly freezing in game (black screen, have to ctrl alt delete to end process) roughly 1/3rd the time. Seems to only occur in the midst of a battle, when I'm shooting something.

i5-3570k
8 gigs ram
radeon 7950, drivers updated ~less than a month ago
windows 7, 64 bit premium

All the hardware operating at stock settings.

I didn't think it at all possible, but after a good amount of testing, I think this patch actually made the netcode WORSE.

Takes me well over 3+ minutes of constant combat with Ravens (even ones with pings as low as 28) to take off a body part. More than ample time for it to destroy you easily. I find it almost ironic, but generally funny that with as amazingly difficult as it is to do any form of damage on these guys, their ability to hit you and damage you is absolute. They simply cannot fault. The lag, or netcode, or whatever the heck it is that causes this is 100% one directional.

So far the only time you can get a shot to register is on a Mech that isn't moving. Even ones moving 15kph or so seem to skirt the damage.

I noticed recently, after dying to these lights over and over, that the second to last item that damaged me to my death was "Fall Damage". I made not of it and fought Mechs to the death (mine) on completely flat ground. No speeding over drifts and taking fall damage, just, running around in circles, shooting at them, hitting them visually, doing no damage, and eventually dying, and sure enough, "Fall damage" is registered as my last (if not second to last) damage source.

Not sure if there's some kind of faulty damage application logic going on there, but, it is what it is.
