just to reinforce.. here's a comparison that i just did in my game

this isn't just changing texture quality.. this is going from "Low" to "Very High" in the preset system specifications (i normally have it on low)

my system specs:
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
Card name: AMD Radeon HD 6570

I've contacted support. They gave me the basic support response like adjust settings in the game, create a new profile for MWO.exe in the Catalyst Control Center. Neither of these worked so I sent them what they requested which were some log files from MWO and a DxDiag. It's been 2 days and I haven't heard back yet.

Yeah it's perplexing... And sucks for you

I'm amazed at the amount of detail the textures have on very high compared to low which is all ive ever seen..
Wish I could play on very high with a decent frame rate

Okay so. As it turns out the HD5000 series cards are the "minimum" requirement for the game. I am using two of them but this game doesn't even bother with the crossfire. So it looks like I'll be getting a new GPU soon. Also the support technician said that because of the card the game itself scales down to match it.

I'm looking at a getting an ASUS GTX560 Ti. What do you think?

I started looking at prices and while it's pushing it a bit I am looking at a 660 Ti which isn't terrible on the 3D Mark Scale. Hopefully that fixes the issue. Though it's been awhile since I've had an Nvidia card.

This is absolutely ridiculous. You know when I first heard about a new MW game coming out I could barely contain myself. I called everyone I knew. Even people who could care less. I was over excited with joy. Then I heard it was going to be free to play. That joy turned to rage. As I commented on a few forums and the youtube video people told me " no its cool it wont be like other FTP games it will be cool and not pay to win" I hope you guys dont start getting money hungry like most ftp titles do. This is the reason I was so pissed at first hearing this mw was going to be ftp. When I play a game I like to get every item, every color scheme, every achievement etc. If this is going to cost me an arm and a leg to accomplish then I will probably loose interest in the game. I had a couple of skins on some 2 or 3 mechs and now I no longer have them and I cant even afford to paint one mech. I already spent a good deal on this game. I wouldn't mind spending even a bit more say a grand total of 80 bucks, but with that much money, I should have everything in the game as far as paint jobs and extras and still be able to buy a couple of mech bays and maybe 2 mechs with mc. At this rate if one were to want to unlock everything in the game it would cost hundreds of dollars and that is just insane. I hope these prices come down. I do appreciate that the developers listen to the community and congrats on an excellent game. Im sure you guys will do whats right in this matter. Thanks and no hard feeling!

First of all I can see the advantages of this system, and I see what you are trying to achieve. This system is great for pilots that have a lot of mechs and want to have same color theme for all of them. But the weak point of this plan is that there is not a lot of pilots that have a lot of mechs, and can benefit from this system. If a pilot has 1-3 mechs (and I think there will be about 80% of such pilots) he will not spend $15 just for the paint alone. I know I wouldn't. You should merge both systems! Pay 20% for color for ONE mech, pay full price to unlock color for ALL mechs.

Okay final update.

I picked up a ASUS HD7850 which should solve my graphical issues. That and I guess it's high time for my to install that Intel Core i7 960 I bought a year back and have been sitting on.

I'll update this post with images of before & after. Probably on Sunday.

Edit: Saturday Night - I installed these after numerous bugs. I truly believe my 5770's were dying. I was getting a lot of missing textures and textures coming in and out at random. Oh well, 3 solid years day in day out will do that. Thanks you two (the cards).

And thanks to everyone for the help with this. I really appreciate it.

Now onto the show!

Boy look at what I was missing the entire time. GAME ON!

Second Edit - I also upgraded the CPU from a Core i7 920 2.66Ghz to a Core i7 960 3.20Ghz.

Please switch the default color tab to unlocked colors.

After switching it once in game to that tab it will display the title of the last group of colors I had selected when I enter the camo system again, but really just display all colors.

I know this has caused me to accidentally buy colors at least twice because I was hurriedly switching paint jobs between matches and clicked on colors I thought I owned, but really just clicked on ones that were close and didn't look too closely because I was in a rush.

I understand the system, and like it. However, if there were anything in this game which was available to all players (paying and free-playing alike), it should be colours. There's simply no two ways about it. Half a million to unlock red for all mechs- I've done that, and it's nice. However, I'd have to cough up dearly now that the sale is ended. I sell my old mechs when I go to buy a new one. I pug and pug because I have no friends who play. I can highlight my adorable SPD-5D with red, but I just can't afford to drop 1.25 million for blue or orange, much less 1000 MC for white or grey. The customization of a 'mech is incomplete when your teammates can't see your loadout, the hilarious name you've painted on your cockpit windows, or even your ideal colours. The colours can be fixed, but they must cost less. Call me a hipster, but I wanna get all the green off my 'mech without breaking the bank.

TL;DR: Please make colors affordable to everyone. I love the game, but I feel like I'm just a green cow in the olive-drab herd without a good, slick colour scheme.

Like the idea of unlocking the colors for all mechs, that was definitely nice. The camo pattern for all variants also good. The issue is the prices are too high. As with most of the cosmetic items, everything seems overpriced. Granted I am a sucker and still bought some, I will not be buying anymore, Too expensive. I am sure others feel the same way. Lower the prices a bit more and you may get more people buying, or those of us who have no qualms about dumping a few bucks here and there to buy more.

I previously replied praising this system, but now I return with one simple complaint.

A color for ALL 'Mechs costs 1,000 MC.
A pattern for one variant costs 750 MC.

Do you see something wrong here?

After purchasing the Tiger pattern unlock for 750 MC, applying it on my Raven, and then trying to apply to it on my Catapult, I found it was only available for the Raven variant.

Was this intentional? It was very unclear to me if the unlock was just for the chassis, and I bought it expecting an unlock for all chassis.
