Yeah, it's not really a starter Mech, but logically, having to spend time in any other Mech is just wasted effort since it'll be the Mech I'll be gaining all my MXP in.
Seems that we'll be starting in lower-tonnage chassis and have to earn some rank before we can get to the goodness (lucky for those who want to excel as light Mech pilots since they already start off and can put all their time into becoming a good Light chassis pilot)
You just choose chasis as an IS mechwarrior and advance through it (start in an Urbie, end in Raven - start in Mackie, end in Fafnir -> examples).

Wolfhound or Raven
Gladiator 5R Or Centurion

Cyclops! man I love that command mech. Also any of these variants would be great CP-10-Z (stock) CP-11-A 9 (Gauss No AC/20) CP-11-B (Dual Gauss slightly slower yes Please!) 1CP-11-C (Ok this is really the first choice for me Gauss with C3 its just beautiful!) CP-11-H ( A close quarters retrofit to be feared by all!)

On a serious note, it's the only mech that I enjoyed every aspect of. It's kind of soft for an Assault mech, but try to imagine people's faces when I barrel down on them at twice the average speed of one only to let loose with an assault laser to the cockpit... aaaaah, satisfaction.

The Templar is gonna take 13 years before it gets produced. You might wanna go for a Battlemaster or Zeus instead.

Sorry, but none of mechs will be available for the following reasons:
Ragnarok is not a canon mech
The Raijin won't see production for the next 3 years.
The Fujin isn't canon either.
The Nexus won't seen production for the next 5 years.
I would recommend a Devastator, it recently went into production and brings the pain to the enemy.
Jenner is a pretty decent alternative to the Raijin

I imagine some other weight classes would also be required, but I don't know the heavier "cheap" mechs very well. Ideally, any of the 'Mechs here could be ridden for your entire career, though obviously they'd need upgrading to stand up to the big nasties that people'd trade up to. In a proper BT/MW game, tonnage shouldn't be the only factor, and that seems to be how Piranha is handling this(thankfully).
