Hello,

I just read another forum topic and realized something... perhaps the reason my box is still YELLOW is that they checked my birthday (18 in 8 months). >_<

So, does the fact that I'm only 17 mean that I legally CANNOT get into closed beta? Not saying, "LET ME IN NOW!" I'd just like to know if theoretical exceptions COULD be made so I can stop checking the status so often.

Started playing MW3 when I was 7, best game ever. So much better than MW4; hopefully they bring some of the epicness back to MW:O.

Think it was covered elsewhere, you need to be 18 to sign the NDA

Sorry man, if you're under 18 you can't enter into an NDA.

I think the best chance you have must be July 17th, when people who buy Founders Packages get access to the Beta. I don't think the NDA will be up at that time, otherwise they would have to state when you're buying the Founders Packs "Founders who are < 18 years old will not be able to join the Beta due to a required NDA agreement".

Also, a status change is emailed to you automatically, so refreshing your forum-based status is not needed.

Can't I have my parents sign for me?

What I mean is, what's the point? There's nothing stopping me (I don't feel it's right, though, not planning on it) from making another account, lying about my age, and actually getting a chance to make it.

Do you HAVE to sign it? Gahhhhhhhh.

I will glue my lips shut... and my chats...

Kids these days need to learn to lie about their age every once and a while. :D

Not that that would help with your chances of getting in or anything.

BELIEVE me... they DO. I'm the exception- forgot it'd be an issue. Dawned on me today. :D

I need a hard NOOOOOOOOOOO from someone so this pending button isn't in the back of my head with a tiny sliver of hope all the time.

It says "entering your birthday is optional".

So i dont believe anyone gets rejected due to their birthdates.

Unless im remembering wrongly and the optional part is only for the forum profile...

GAHHHHHHHHHHH... let's find all the other 17 year olds and start a revolution.

Wait- do the rules about NDAs apply to where THEY are or where WE are?

ive played mechwarrior since MW3, not on release, cause in my country games used to come out late... i played it when i was 10-12 i guess. I also played MW4, (i like mw3 better though)

Im pretty sure Mechwarrior 3 was the first PC game ive played :D

I had a sega genesis i think...but it overheated not enough heatsinks :P it melted after i left it under a lightbulb :D

My dad borrowed MW3 from a friend maybe 11 or so years go. He was playing it- I watched him, I became more fascinated with it than him. I still have fond memories of fighting Owens in the desert with my Bushwalker, and prancing around in my Mad Cat destroying drop ships. :D

Like Stomeris I played MW4 as well, didn't like it nearly as much.

A couple years ago we bought some Battletech stuff... but I couldn't get anyone to play it with me.

I have a massive collection of Knex, so I ended up going through the Mech Spec books with all those "pretty pictures" and building some of them out of Knex. I was highly biased towards Omnis. :D

BUT, I did build a Quad once: The Scorpion. It looked EPIC.

Hey, if it makes you feel better it was the first RPG/wargame I played back in the late 80s. I think I was 11, and my best friend came over with this new game he got that had a cool robot on it. :D We used to save our allowances to buy all of the Battletech materials we could, we'd coordinate so that between us we have the whole set. I still have a lot of it, sitting on my bookshelf. Can't find my painted minis though. :P

Sorry to hear that- though I wouldn't hear anything at all, otherwise. What was the best game?

(I've done a bit of beta testing as well, though not for anything big like this.)

I remember seeing it for the first time back in 86... Ahh the memories. painting the minis, the 3d tabletop layouts, the battles. Also played it on the pc when it started. The thing that got me into the world of battletech was "Robotech" the cartoon, watching that and playing the games, Ahh I was a Happy kid back in those days.

I'm one of the sad 17 year olds too. I've been into these games since like, before Kindergarten, when I begged my brother to let me play MechCommander. After that it was Mechwarrior 4 Vengeance, and then I saw how crappy that game was with Mechwarrior 3... which no longer runs on my computer. Screen doesn't redraw right except in software mode, game runs too fast so everything is crazy and bouncing and speedy, crashes all the time... sad sad Mechwarrior here. I can't even go back to the oldies and goodies to tide me over! ;) (MW4 veng/mercs doesn't count)

Anyway, I guess all of us who can shell out 30-60 bucks will just have to wait until Founder's. The way I make myself feel better is comparing the 1.5k beta keys released to the >100k forum population. :) (.015% 1.5% chance)

I've considered buying MW3 off of Amazon many times... then I realize that it probably won't run on my 64bit OS...

Don't you mean 1.5% chance?
